If there is sufficient interest we will start the game next week. I will post games in about an hour for next week. As long as there at least 8 players it will continue weekly throughout the season.

Games will be posted by Wednesday for the following week's games (Monday-Sunday) Because of the scheduling changes, games will count as long as they are played during the week. Due to the light schedule over Christmas, week 2 will include games for December 14-23 and week 3 will include games for December 27- January 3. I will try to list home teams last, but I may not pick up neutral site games so beware.

Post winning picks for the entire week in this thread before the games start.
Picks put in after the games have started will not be counted.

Hopefully there will be enough interest to have a fun game this season.

I agree. When I put these games together I usually know who I am going to pick. This week I changed my mind on 7 of the 20 games.

And where's Matt? Lynx? Hoopsmom? Adam? (didn't Adam win it all last year -- notwithstanding Cal's magic with fraudulent ballots that allowed him to *tie* Razz )

Myrtle, you remain my chief target since you (again, with Cal's help) defeated me by 1 single little ol' game.

Here's to a HEALTHY, COMPLETE season!

I also hope to see our friends from last season. I would also mention Summertime Blues as an absentee.

well, I flipped back and forth multiple times between Iowa and ISU and also with Tulane - MTSU...and wouldn't you know, came out on the losing side with both! At least they were close games...so well chosen by our worthy leader. Both of 'my' teams lost by totally having sh*t 4th quarters. I guess I thought I was safe and went away before the fat lady sang...so maybe it was my own fault for not following through.

It's what you get for consulting *my* Ouija board. Razz

What are the odds -- Iowa St. leads by 17 at the end of 3, and manages to lose. Rolling Eyes And Tulane....really!? Evil or Very Mad

OK, we've only got 5 players (others can still join). nonetheless I will keep the game up if people are still interested. Be advised that based on yesterday's this is going to be a battle. Everyone correctly picked Tennessee Martin over Samford.

ditto. and I saw your Denver team won a big one against Colorado. They must be pretty decent this year.

well, this week I think I'll use the I Ching instead of Howee's ouija board. That didn't work out so good for me. I may come back and revisit this on the 13th.

Yes. After going almost the entire week without cancellations 3 games were not played today. The Missouri - Missouri St game was postponed until Monday on Thursday, the Duke -Miami game was postponed on Friday, and the Tennessee - Texas game was postponed today. Even though the Missouri game was only postponed one day it is into the next week for purposes of the game so it will not count. As a result there are only 17 games for the week.

Results will be posted soon.

The first week is in the books. With 3 games cancelled Sunday there were only 17 games for the week. 6 games were unanimous, with only South Dakota St losing to Northern Iowa. Eight games had a sole player who picked against the crowd and those games went 4-4.

In the end it was a 3-way tie for first. Myrtle was the only player to pick Wake Forest in their win over North Carolina, Pureform had Washington St over Washington and Calbearman had Tulane over Middle Tennessee.

Standings

Player.......... W L %
1. Myrtle..... 12 5 70.6
1. Pureform. 12 5 70.6
1. Calbear... 12 5 70.6
2. Pilight..... 11 6 64.7
2. Howee.... 11 6 64.7
6. Coyotes.... 4 3 57.1

I have included percentages to encourage other players to join during the season, but the rankings will be based on total wins.

One thing you won't see this year is a game with my alma mater. Cal is awful (losses to San Jose St. Cal-Bakersfield, Washington and San Francisco) and I don't like picking against my team.

Do you plan to go to Macao this year? If so, someone else might put up a Cal game for you Razz Wink Actually maybe Colorado - Cal will be interesting?
