Interesting that the PAC12 gets zero players on the 1st or 2nd teams.

herd mentality.

And the PAC is often overlooked in these things anyway. we play too late in the day for most people to actually watch.

I wonder why they put the players in the order they did. It's not alphabetical. So, maybe is by the vote count among the SI staff voters. If this is the case, one would expect Bueckers to be favored for SI NPOY.

The SI first team has four of the five players I chose in my February 19 thread. SI put Boston over Caitlyn Clark on their first team and put Clark on their second. That's reasonable, to me, but I still don't think Boston scores enough per game (13.2) at a high enough FG% (.494) to be first team.

As to UConn, I think Nelson-Ododa was more valuable to UConn this season than Christyn Williams, who made the SI third team. Williams averaged three points more per game, but ONO shot a higher field goal percentage, had more rebounds and assists, and was much more valuable to the defense than Williams.

Along the same line as Glenn's comment: There's no way Haley Jones belongs here. If you want a second P12 player, it IMO would be Onyenwere.

But the whole list is based pretty much on hype. How many SI staffers know anything about the women's college game? Not many I would guess. So they just read some articles and parrot what others have said.

myrtle I agree that Stanford and the Pac-12 got overlooked! Glenn I agree about Williams being a third teamer - she should be a no teamer this year!

Christyn Williams does not belong anywhere near AA status IMO.

I say this as an unbiased Paige Bueckers homer. She should wait her turn and be on the second team. Rhyne Howard should be the first team.

If they watched any of the games, they'd see, but this is probably the first time they even did such a team.

The good thing about the upcoming WBCA team is that there's just one big team.

If ANY player from the Pac-12 gets AA status, you'd think it would bt the conference PoY, Aari McDonald.

Congrats to Paige and Brenda.

What Frese did this year is insane. She replaced her entire starting lineup and has one of the most dangerous offenses in the country.

Seeing the thread title the first two names that popped into my head were Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi but then I discovered the AA stood for All American not Alcoholics Anonymous

Agreed.

Onyenwere would be my pick because Stanford really doesn't have a "star" -- just lots of really good players.
