Ill take Lexi Brown over banham any day of the week

Reeve should have never signed her, but apparently that was the best she could do even though she had a boatload of cap space to work with last year. Banham’s a tough person to cut because that’s a little like cutting Whalen. Banham is the second most prominent Gopher unless you want to argue McCarville, who isn’t a Minnesotan. Every once in a great while Banham has a game that can make you think she might be worth keeping. Her preseason game against the Mystics probably kept from getting cut before the regular season.

But Reeve has said a couple of times during the preseason that she’s keeping an eye on the waiver, and Banham is really the only candidate to be cut, unless she’s willing to dismiss Davis already. There’s still a couple of teams that haven’t finalized their rosters. Dallas in particular is who I’d be keeping an eye on once Sabally and AGray come back. Any guard they end up cutting is either good now (Mabrey) or have great potential (Dungee, Evans). Might have to deal the leftover 2022 third round pick to avoid the waiver process cuz Minnesota is sitting at #9 in line. Of course, Reeve might not be looking for future potential right now unless she’s already given up on the season.

As far as Lexie Brown goes, she got an audition at Chicago and got beat out by Boyd, so there’s nothing really to support that she’d be worth pursuing short or long term. I get this phoofy grew up rich kid who doesn’t really want to work that hard at basketball vibe from her. Would rather work harder on her social media presence. It’s a pass on Brown for me.

I take it she's a bit delusional or needs to grow up a bit. The whole non-communication thing should have been a sign for her future with the lynx. This is not College sweetie they owe you nothing Laughing Laughing

I was worried about a repeat of Christmas-Kelly.
Reeve's gambling not paying off.

At least now the starting lineup becomes much more apparent.

Breaking: Lynx set to add guard Layshia Clarendon with Aerial Powers out

Powers has been injury prone throughout her career

Is it a hardship signing? What else could it be?

Pending sale of Minnesota Timberwolves has no limitations to moving franchise to a new city

Quote:
Meyer Orbach, the second-largest shareholder in the Minnesota Timberwolves, filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis on Wednesday alleging that owner Glen Taylor's pending sale of the franchise to Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez is in violation of the franchise's partnership agreement, according to a copy of the complaint obtained by ESPN. ...

A vote of the NBA's board of governors is still required to give final approval of the sale to Lore and Rodriguez.

The complaint filed by Orbach, a New Jersey real estate mogul who owns more than 17% of the Timberwolves and WNBA Lynx, also includes a significant revelation: Despite Taylor's public statements to the contrary, he has included no provision in the $1.5 billion sales agreement with Lore and Rodriguez that requires the new ownership group to keep the franchise in Minnesota upon taking control of the team, according to an exhibit in the complaint. ...

Essentially, there are no contractual limitations to keep Lore and Rodriguez from moving the Timberwolves and Lynx to a new city.

Love it when our fears about the Lynx (& Wolves) potentially getting relocated become validated. Confused

Powers is so inconsistent and the way she plays is not always team first... it may be good for the team to work out some other options.

And Clarendon will be back on the roster by tomorrow. Another silly releasing/signing mess.

Never mind. Looking through the transactions, it appears the hardship releases don’t go through the normal waiver wire process.

Minnesota injuries
Rennia Davis - Left foot stress fracture - Out for season
Jessica Shepard - Mild adductor strain - Out indefinitely
Natalie Achonwa - MCL sprain in right knee - Out indefinitely
Aerial Powers - UCL tear in her right thumb - Requires surgery/Out indefinitely

Only one replacement player that I know of in Clarendon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shepard’s mild strain gets better quickly. I have a feeling they put her on the shelf in order to bring Clarendon back.

Jessica Shepard - Mild adductor strain - Out indefinitely - Will she ever get to play pro ball? So much injuries since she left college.

Aerial Powers - UCL tear in her right thumb - Requires surgery/Out indefinitely - This girl stay hurt. Damn!
