A lot of questionable fouls called on Connecticut the first half. ESPN needs a game for Tuesday night to compete with the Debate......maybe?

LV guard play is marginal. DRob's passing is poor, collectively the defense is bad, and they've shot 5-16.

Nice. Angel McCoughtry scored like a 200 points in the last 4 minutes.

I just realized this is the "Casino Series". I kinda wish the league would lean into that narrative a bit as it's pretty unique.
Love to see Angel play like this. At her peak, one of my favorite players to watch.

I was just thinking how cool that shirt is just as Lobo brought it up.

I was just thinking Angel is getting her revenge for the last game.

DRob has been stellar. I've really started to appreciate her more in this series.

A classic playoff game for Angel McCoughtry!
33 minutes (season-high), 29 points on 13-22 FG (season highs), 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals.

Aces' bench was 1-9 and contributed 4 points. If/when Seattle wins today, they'll have an extra 2 days off, despite their delay in starting this series due to the COVID testing issue.
I don't see the Aces faring well against Seattle with such a poor bench contribution going forward. I've also thought all year that they were playing better without Liz than they would have with her, but I think her absence will be a huge deficit against Seattle. (All assuming they can beat the Suns in Game 5.)

That's three times in four games that Bonner has been a non-factor on offense

I like this approach of using Ruocco/Lobo as the commentators and letting LaChina do the studio hosting. I prefer to have the sound on during games but I always mute the pre-game and half-time stuff anyway. |

That's the first game all season the Aces won without Lindsay Allen playing

I presume then if it's a Sun-Storm Finals, you won't be watching? Or would you still root for the Sun anyway? |
I rooted for Connecticut last year, against Washington. Easy call, since I can't stand Delle Donne. And the 2019 Sun have the only two players in my personal Top Five (Jonquel Jones and Alyssa Thomas) who aren't considered polarizing by the league-wide fanbase. The 2020 Sun have Dewanna Bonner, who is one of my personal Bottom Five players in the league; I will never root for a team with her on it, and I'll be god damned before I root for Bonner to win a third championship, before Angel McCoughtry wins her first.
So, to answer your question, no, I will not watch Sun/Storm in the Finals.

I still believe that Vegas can beat Connecticut without Hamby. I don't see any path to victory against the Storm, without her.

That’s the Angel I know and love! She was able to score and relieve pressure of Wilson. Much much needed. Robinson was able to be a reliable scoring option as well. If Wilson has to do it alone, it’s a tough road. McBride still needs to show up though.
For Connecticut, Alyssa Thomas was only 4th on the team in FG attempts. Even when you take her FTs into account, she would probably be behind Jasmine and Briann. Bonner needs be able to score around the basket more.
Kelsey Plum did great in studio. I love LaChina and Kelsey is a good complement. I wonder if Kelsey will look for some broadcasting work during the college season.

Aces’ defense did their job today, with half of Connecticut’s FG attempts coming from January and J. Thomas. We all know how unlikely it is for both players to be having good shooting days in the same game.

Yes, she did! But I think she’ll be too busy being a graduate assistant for Mike Neighbors’ Arkansas squad this coming season to look for broadcasting work. The PAC-12 Networks I’m sure would love to have her back if she were to open herself up, though.

In general I've enjoyed the guest players with LaChina. They've all done credit to the game and make intelligent comments about the plays and players without the hype or redundancy of some of the regular announcers. It's a nice contrast. And Plum is such a cutie as well! A lot of these players are quite beautiful in their off-the-court gear.

I had been kinda cool on McCoughtry's play in this series, seemed like she was attempting a lot of hero ball. But today's game sure showed what she's capable of.
Game 5 should be a good one.
