Soooo... do we know for sure if EDD & Tina Charles will play this season? Because of their respective health conditions, they might be able to get vaccinated before the season starts. Otherwise if not, wouldn’t they still feel too unsafe to play like they felt last season? Especially if it isn’t another wubble season. I understand almost everything related to the season is going to depend on how much control this country has over the virus in the next few months, but free agency is happening now. Are the Mystics approaching this as if they’ll have their two superstars, or not? If we don’t know anytime soon, it’ll be fascinating to track based on what their other free agent moves look like.

I’m assuming Charles isn’t playing overseas this season and didn’t last season?

If so, fumbling two straight paychecks would be interesting.

Alysha Clark’s contract was apparently for 2 years (guaranteed) at $183k per year.

About 100.000 payraise right? Good for her. Richyyy could the Storm afford to pay her that while still keeping Bird and Howard?

Yes. Even with both Bird and Howard on the full supermax.

Would've gotten more complicated in the second year when Loyd will take a big raise to keep, Stewart would get more expensive and presumably they're hoping Canada is good enough to pay to keep (although Bird might've retired to help create space).

Then maybe it was just her time for a new journey and she wanted this

Same. I’ll at least take it at face value, anyway. Hopefully it also means they’re trying with Howard (and Whitcomb?).

Tina signing within 24 to 48 hours, Cloud and Sanders by weeks end. Also, cap money left to sign Emma after overseas commitments. Tianna unlikely to re-sign back with the Mystics.

Cloud and EDD started recruiting Alysha last year. Also, Thibault once tried to trade for Alysha. Powers started to renege on a deal with the Mystics then Thibault hurried up to Plan B for Alysha.

Per Rachel Galligan Winsidr:

League sources confirm to Winsidr that the Washington Mystics have signed LaToya Sanders.

Thibault brainwashed her into taking an old CBA salary, just like that one article said. Is that the way it’s supposed to be?

Tina Charles has officially re-signed.

Apparently, it's a(nother) 1-year, $175k deal. Another cheaper contract that Charles kindly agreed to.

She wants that ring and this team is the best chance at getting that

Best chance of the teams remaining that could afford her.

I wonder if she wanted confirmation that EDD would in fact play this season – I also wonder if either of them will only play once their vaccinated. Regardless of their preference, I hope they get vaccinated soon.

Per Rachel Galligan Winsidr:

Sources have informed Winsidr that Erica McCall was signed by Minnesota and traded to Washington in a sign-and-trade deal.

Hats off to Reeve on that. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why she gave McCall a qualifying offer. She actually got something for her.

Apparently Thibault sees a lot of Hawkins in her. He’s trying to substitute similar ingredients in his championship roster recipe.

At least we got a pick out of her. Nice job Reeve, wasn’t sure what she saw in her haha.

A bit of an embarrassing trade on paper even if it is just for a 3rd rounder, but if there’s anyone that could “unlock” her potential in the W, it’s Thibault. (Though he wasn’t able to do that with former #2 Pick Alaina Coates...)

So does Thibault just no longer believe in drafts? He's already out of 2021 and has started dipping into the 2022 picks. Razz
