Any idea as to why Alysha Clark didn't play for LDLC ASVEL Feminin today in their Euroleague matchup against Fenerbahce? They gave Fener a run for their money without her but Iagupova is a baddd woman and came up with the final winning play!

Her team already advanced to the quarter final so she probably got some rest

Maybe.

Had ASVEL Feminin won, they lost in the last 5 seconds on a steal and a lay up, they would have played Galatasray in the Qtr finals. Galat is 3-3 and finished 2nd in their group. Since ASVEL lost, they have to play 6-0 Sophron basket instead. The quarter finals are not until mid March, plenty of time to rest.
Announcer mentioned Clark wasnt dressed, but on the bench. Not sure why she didnt play.

Sabally didnt play for Fenerbahce, she twisted or sprained her ankle in the previous game. She came back in that game but was gimpy.

The question mark of the tournament is Arike Ogunbowale in the doghouse for Dynamo Kursk. I dont think she played in the 4th qtr, only played 14 minutes in the entire game and scored 5 points on 2 for 4 shooting. She didnt look hurt while she was in.

Gotcha! I definitely missed them mentioning Clark. Achowa played like a superstar in that game! Seeing her took me back to her ND games. To be honest, it looks like Chelsea is in and out of the doghouse with her coach. I've been wondering why her stats have been so "modest," but it definitely looks like they lean on Laia Palau, a living legend and a nice, smart guard who has definitely righted the ship and steadied them in games. Now, once the coach was ejected, Gray was brought in by the assistant to help close things out.

Gotcha on Sabaly, I was wondering where she was but I was definitely glad to see them get the win. I hate that I missed Kursk. I've been struggling to keep up with who is where these days! Confused

I suspect this has been debated before but how do y'all like the point differential method of deciding series winners? It's interesting but I think that would drive us crazy(ier) in the W! Laughing

From an Avenida press release:

After carrying out the mandatory PCR tests at the end of the Euroleague matches prior to the trip of the rivals to their countries of origin, a positive case for COVID has been detected in the Turkish Izmit team. For this reason, and taking into account that Perfumerías Avenida, which had tested negative for the entire squad in the previous tests, faced the Ottoman team last night, as a precaution, the isolation of the first team and cancellation of their training until the performance and receipt of results of new PCR tests to our group.

The results of these tests will be reported when they are known, while a speedy recovery is desired for the affected team.

Avenida has a game scheduled for Friday.

Dynamo Kursk seems like a disorganized team.

Bella Alarie signs with Avenida in Spain

http://www.perfumeriasavenidabaloncesto.com/sala-de-prensa/bella-alarie-joven-promesa-de-la-wnba-refuerzo-para-el-interior.html

he Perfumerías Avenida Basketball Club has wanted to make another important effort to hire the American player Bella Alaire in this current 2020-2021 campaign. The young interior, who has already debuted in the WNBA and in some calls for the USA team (5x5 and 3x3), will join the Azulona discipline in the next few hours to make up for Marica Gajic's long-term absence and reinforce, in this way , Avenida's game in painting thanks to his talent and quality.

Just thought I'd put a note here to mention that all the updates are continuing to go up at WB247 as normal, if people want to follow them. Don't know why awhom111 stopped linking them here lately - maybe there weren't enough clicks to warrant the effort - but it's all still there if you want them.

EuroLeague Women quarter-finals were set today, with Kursk finally scraping through their group (earning the dubious privilege of facing UMMC in the quarters in March).

Sorry, I am quite busy with real life right now and not really reading here much. I am using the time I have to try and keep up on the site, but no promises there either for the near future.

Yep, certainly didn't mean it as a criticism, awhom111! Just wanted to make people aware that they could still get your updates if they wanted them. Always appreciate that you go trawling for this stuff so that we don't have to Smile.
