I wonder if this would be considered a good matchup for McCowan or if coach will stick with Achonwa.......

Excited to see how the Mercury respond against a young Fever team.

I am still optimistic that the opening day blunder had more to do with Griner's individual performance than what we should expect for the short season.

I don’t think you have much to worry about against this Fever team. Laughing

I cant disrespect another team this early haha Wink

I am mostly concerned with how the Merc play, not the outcome.

McCowan not in the line up is not what I wanted to see.

The ghost of Pokey is haunting Fever fans. She’s possessed Stanley.

McCowan should be viewed as the franchise player going forward. How about treating her like one?

If Stanley doesn't use McCowan correctly, she deserves to get fired. She's the future of this team.

Agreed. This season needs to be about personal player development for the future, not giving Dupree minutes.

They should have Dupree as the SF, then they can start all three of McCowan Achonwa, and Dupree. Dupree has been taking plenty of perimeter shots in this game.

Good idea in theory but I think this would become a defensive nightmare for Indiana expecting Dupree to be out guarding the perimeter.

You think she’s better at defending bigs? I don’t. She has nice length and nimbleness to guard the perimeter. She’s skinny. Does a lot of running to stay in shape.

Expecting Dupree to guard anywhere is a defensive nightmare.

Is a 3 worth more than a 2?

I just noticed that Shatori looks like a mini Dewanna Bonner.

Mercury have 4 rebounds at 4:31 left in the 2nd. Griner with zero. Shaking my head

Yeah Griner does not look good at all. It’s a different game when you’re playing someone your own size in McCowan.

If Griner at 6'9 were even just a better-than-average rebounder as it relates to skill & effort, she'd run away with the 'all-time leading rebounder' title when it's all said & done.

Is it just me? I don't see why Allemand is getting so many minutes. She seems really predictable. Always pulls up and passes.

I think her steadiness takes a lot of pressure off of K Mitchell. She may be predictable but it doesn't put the young guard in a position to chuck.

I think that's right.

And beyond that, she'll be replaced by Wheeler soon. No since pulling Mitchell to point for a few games. Let her settle in where is the best and where she will spend the majority of the season.
