These teams only met twice in the regular season, with each team winning on the other's home court

In MIN’s home game, they were down Achonwa, Powers, Davis; Shepard didn’t play. They had Burdick as a replacement player.

CHI was down Ndour.

MIN committed 20 turnovers.

In CHI’s home game, they were down Parker; Lexie Brown didn’t play.

MIN was down Davis; Banham and Shepard didn’t play.

CHI committed 27 fouls leading to MIN shooting 28-33 from FT. Bet Wade wasn’t too happy about that.

Officials were #18 Kurt Walker, #15 Fatou Cissoko-Stephens, #17 Matt Kallio. Can we make sure to have them back for this game just in case they were a factor.

No, no, no! Not Sky vs. Lynx--the header's supposed to say LIBERTY vs. Lynx!!! Sophie Cunningham is supposed to miss one of those 50 three pointers she took!

So close! If only. But it would have been a strange game. Sure, I'd be rooting for the Liberty, but if you think I'm not rooting for any shot that comes out of Napheesa Collier's hand to go in, think again.

Collier is my favorite athlete of all time to never play for a New York sports team. And, by extension, the Lynx have become a genuine second team for me in the WNBA. I'm basically a fan of every player now, and I watched every game this year on League Pass. Give me Liberty or give me Lynx! Smile

This is probably where I'd gush about how Phee is the complete player who does everything well, but the problem is that this year, she did not shoot the 3 pointer well. She was only 25.3% from beyond the arc; she is the only Lynx player who has made more than one 3 pointer who is shooting less than 30%. In 2020 Napheesa made 40.8% of them.

Looking at the 2020 stats, I found it interesting to note that there were 5 Lynx players who shot over 40% from 3 point range last year, all with at least 30 attempts: Banham (47.2%), Carleton (45.7%), Dantas (43.3%), Herbert-Harrigan (42.4%), and Collier (40.8%).

This year, no one on the Lynx shot better than 37.9%, which is Kayla McBride's team leading total. I find that strange--I'd think that with Sylvia Fowles playing all season at a high level that the 3s attempted would be more open and the shooting percentages would be higher.

Wow, that's right: Crystal Dangerfield edged out Napheesa for the team lead in scoring last year! That was some rookie season. Sophmore jinx has hit pretty hard, though. Crystal's skills are more that of a shooting guard than of a point guard, but she just isn't big enough to be cast as anything but the point (and barely big enough for that).

For the first half of the season, I would have said that the Lynx's big problem was that they didn't have a point guard. Dangerfield wasn't cutting it, and while the Lynx announcers (and supposedly everyone on the Lynx) were considering Layshia Clarendon to be the solution, as a Liberty fan, I wasn't buying it. I was saying to myself 'you'll learn, Layshia is not as good as they first appear to be on the surface." It turns out that I had the learning to do--the problems with Layshia's game were magnified in New York by the lack of supporting cast to a greater extent than I thought. Layshia makes the players around them better, which is something Dangerfield doesn't do (and I didn't think Layshia did).

Anyway, hate to say it, but if I were James Wade, I'd dare Collier to beat me from 3 point range, and make her do it at least twice before I made any adjustment at all.

If the Lynx can stop Candace Parker from having a game-MVP type of performance, I think they'll win this game. GO NAPHEESA! GO LYNX!

First playoff game at target center since 2016. I think we all remember what happened in that game. And of course, it’s an elimination game against Princess Parker. Go Lynx.

Sad, that this game is scheduled against the Vikings home opener vs. the Seahawks. I will flip over to ABC during commercial breaks. In this market (MSP), the ratings are going to suck for this one.

CP doesn't have the legs to go off like this anymore, especially if Syl is her primary defender. Lynx will win this one easily.

I wish it were on ABC.

Wow, that sucks even more. I cut the cord years ago, I won't be watching at all. Oh well.

Defense is the key for the Sky to win this game. If the Sky have a high number of turnovers and play Matador defense then they will lose today's game.

Is Napheesa Collier going to wake up? Chicago is more than capable of sending the Lynx Fishing.

What a move Big Syl put on Dolson. If she's hitting that, there's nothing you can do to stop her.

It would be real nice if Collier could show up.

That was a ridiculously late call by the ref. Seems they weren’t going to call anything unless Powers made the basket, which she did.

Is it weird that I find I enjoy Candace way more on Chicago than on LA? Like..I’m actively rooting for her now. Laughing

Fowles needs more touches. Lynx won't win if they continue to settle for 3's.

When Reeve is playing Banham, you know she’s feeling desperate.

If the Lynx can’t make this interesting this will be a very anticlimactic ending to what I think was an outstanding season.

what has happened to Dangermouse? She had a better than expected (at least by me) rookie season, then looks totally lost this year.

Oh, look, is this about to turn into yet another indictment against single elimination in the second round?
