I will admit I don’t watch the Aces much during the regular season.

What adjustments do you expect them to make going into game 3?

Improving the scoring differential by about 35 points

Laughing Laughing

We obviously aren’t gonna make threes like that, but we’ve got to make some. And we gotta get the ball to Griner and keep our bigs out of foul trouble.

I actually do think the Mercury are the better team - which hasn’t been the case in most conference finals the team has lost in. That doesn’t mean the Merc will win though.

Wilson needs to come out ready to play, and Young, Gray, and Hamby need to put up more points. And if would be helpful if Park could provide some useful minutes defending Griner when Liz is on the bench.

I mean, whichever team starts playing some f*cking defense probably ends up winning the series. Laughing

But if neither team does, it’s looking like the Merc is the hotter team at the moment.

Stokes has been the starter. Maybe that’s what needs to change. Stop with not starting your best players. It can get you smacked in the mouth early. And when you get smacked in the mouth early, it can force a team like the Aces out of their paint play identity and have them hoisting three point shots.

I agree, and in both games the Aces got smacked in the mouth in the beginning.

They don’t appear to have a good enough defense to stop Griner, so having someone who can rebound well, score, and allows single coverage is t a bad idea.

But Liz has limited time, too.

Edit: Also..good on the Suns and Lakers.

Because I don’t think Vegas will be able to legitimately stop the Mercury from getting good shots, the key for Phoenix over the next two games will be maintaining possession and knocking down the best looks.

I don’t think Vegas can outscore a high percentage Mercury team.

The Mercury match up well with Wilson which has really hurt the Aces through two games.

Damn I wish this game were tonight.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bill goes with Liz to start the game tomorrow. He did say, "Liz showed that she wanted to compete." However, if that happens, I'm interested to see how BG responds to that adjustment.

Carolyn Peck just said that the Aces worse defensive efficiency, this season, is against the Phoenix Mercury. Shocked

Cambage starting.
DT picking up right where she left off.
BG block in Wilson was fire.

I'd be fine if BG scored under 10 points per game if she made those sick feeds to Turner every time. Ha.

PHX definitely pinching first. Let's go!!!

Cambage starting, so of course the Merc start strong. Aces should stick with Stokes.

I'm not complaining, but at what point is Bill going to make an adjustment on Turner? The double teams on Griner ain't working.

Well she hasn't scored so I guess that's the point. Make someone else beat you.

We are currently on Game 3 of this and no changes. He must think it’s working well!

Michael Porter Jr., of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, allegedly made a comment about not getting vaccinated, even after he's gotten COVID, twice, to which someone on Twitter responded by quote-tweeting that, with the comment, "Imma keep getting this shit till it kills me."

That's the same energy behind Laimbeer's curious defensive strategy against Griner, IMO: like, "We're going to play off of Turner, to double Griner, for the entire series, and I bet you that she won't score enough wide-open layups to beat us!"

Right but limiting BG only opens up every elsem it's a net win. What makes Griner the MVP is how she affects the game like no other. She's a pick your poison type player. You can try to limit her and maybe have some moderate success keeping her under 20pts but that is just shifting guaranteed points to Turner. I love their tandem game.

When Dee is off the floor and Skylar has to slide to the 2, who runs the offense?

At some point BG will need to get the ball. Turner needs to come back in.
