The constant debates between who REALLY is the Greatest WNBA Player of All Time can be put to rest in this bracket challenge. There are so many different ideas of what makes a great player in terms of scoring the ball, defending, rebounding and what kind of impact they had in the game, etc. We thought it would be a great idea to put it in the public’s hands once and for all to determine who is the Greatest WNBA Player of All Time.

This should be fun. Is it just my browser where a couple of the #3s weren't showing up?

Though I'm sure Vickie Johnson and Ruth Riley would love their #14 seed byes. Wink

I shocked..shocked. They have Sancho Lyttle at 14, but nowhere to be found is Janelle McCarville. I recall back when Lynx fans were adamant that McCarville had a better WNBA career than Sancho Lyttle. Razz

I think you have to include Tina Thomson and Lisa Leslie.

Edit, my mistake, I didn't see the right side of the brackets.

Did you see the selection committee they have? It’s kind of at an Alan Barcoff level. Wink

Only posting upsets (#9 over #8 counts as an upset) until the semis, to save space and typing time. You can safely presume that I went with chalk, unless stated otherwise.

W Bracket:
First Round: #9 Alana Beard over #8 Dawn Staley
Bracket Final: #2 Sheryl Swoopes over #1 Diana Taurasi

N Bracket:
Second Round: #6 Britney Griner over #3 Seimone Augustus

B Bracket:
Bracket Final: #2 Tamika Catchings over #1 Maya Moore

A Bracket:
Bracket Semis: #3 Tina Thompson over #2 Sue Bird

Tournament Semifinals:
#2 Sheryl Swoopes over #1 Lauren Jackson
#2 Tamika Catchings over #1 Lisa Leslie

Tournament Final:
#2 Tamika Catchings over #2 Sheryl Swoopes

However, reading the instructions for something that is a waste of time is a waste of time not a lack reading comprehension.

Those #2 seeds are pretty impressive. Stick anyone at center and I’ll take my chances with those four.

G-Bird
G-Cooper
F-Swoopes
F-Catchings
C-Who cares?

I think I would take the 2s over the 1s in a game (depending, I suppose, on who would fill the final slot.) I think I am mostly stuck on Moore over Swoopes/Catchings.

G-Taurasi
G-?
F-Moore
F-Jackson
C-Leslie

As of 2pm central some interesting numbers. Lauren Jackson somehow only winning 65% to 35% over Meesseman.

And Skylar Diggins-Smith is somehow beating Tweety Nolan.

Must have a bunch of young pups somewhat new to the league voting. Need more of you old-timers to vote!

That Dupree vs. Ford was a tough one. Laughing

Peak!Ford is much better than Peak!Dupree, but Candu's career is over twice as long

Yeah I tossed that one around in my mind a bunch before I voted.

One of those ones that doesn't really have a wrong answer, just depends on how you approach the question and which you personally give more weight to.

A career chart for them would resemble those CoronaVirus charts. Ford would be the line where you just let the disease run its course while Dupree would be the flattened curve.

I went with Ford. For a decent stretch, she was the best in the league at rebounding. Dupree's career was long and good, but she was never the best at something.

I can totally see voting the other way.

Not the least bit surprised by the Diggins-Smith one. Nolan took a while to become the Tweety we remember, then left early, meaning she doesn't have as many high-end seasons as one might think. Between that, recency bias and Diggins-Smith's social media presence/fanbase, that always looked like an 'upset' waiting to happen. The Meesseman-Jackson one's just silly.

And I voted for Ford, but recognised that maybe I shouldn't be while I was doing it Smile.
