Minnesota's offense flowed much better in the second half. Were able to attack and find shooters. Bello used the pick and roll effectively, as well, to balance it out.

Rough first year for Kieger at Penn State. I assume that it will likely take a little while to get things turned around there though - what do other Big Ten fans think?

#8 Michigan State 63
#9 Purdue 72
Michigan State creamed Purdue in the last game of the season, but Purdue gets the win this time. Boilers improve to 18-14, which might be enough to make the tournament.

Which confirms my opinion that RPI doesn't really mean anything when you're talking about whether a team is any good.

watching the Maryland Purdue game reminds me of how much fun it is to watch A. Harris. I only wish she showed any indication of having a shot.
And Maryland really needs to get Owusu on some kind of weight management program.

Looks like a rough transition, but there were a lot of injuries = not the fault of either coaching staff.
Last year, both guards missed games, couldn't play D together, top Wing busted acl, PF broke foot. Basically 4 of the starters.
This year goes : Grad transfer in didn't play, Grad transferred out, PG recruit bailed, top Wing busted acl probably done, stat stuffer Wing transferred out, big center came up gimpy played at below 80%. 6 of 9 top minutes.
Next year they'll add 2 grad transfers, a top PG recruit, while losing 1 starter. 400 is a floor, WNIT run perhaps the ceiling. And of course cross your fingers on health.
imho

Rutgers D just doesn't work vs. Indiana. Going to need a big 4th quarter to come back from this one.

It's too bad Harris didn't have a better coach. I think she could have really blossomed.

lol. if she loses 20 pounds, she'll likely be quicker and have less chance of injury. (and be a better defender) She would still have bulk (like Lindsay Whalen) and use that to her advantage. She's a good player and impressive for a Freshman, but could be better IMO if she lost some of that excess. It has nothing to do with weight shaming. If you're not an athlete, it might matter for your health as you get older, but it probably won't affect your career like it does an athlete. Like many my age, I could stand to lose 20 pounds myself.

I remember when that meant Amber, but if I recall correctly she left Purdue before she played

There's only 3 elite teams, a couple really good teams, a few more good teams, and everybody else is part of a giant mass of mediocrity.

Iowa getting crushed by what we know is a very mediocre team.
I fail to see all the love Charlie seems to be giving the B1G.

The Big Ten made itself "look" good by several of their teams picking up big wins in non-conference, even if some of them could just be teams playing over their heads and their oppoents not peaking yet.

So, Penn State is an anomaly to me. They have a great women's volleyball program and a great women's soccer program, and a pretty good women's atheltics departments....but basketball seems to just putter along. The school and the athletics department sells itself. I think this is all coach personality when it comes to recruiting. Problem for a new coach, Pennsylvania just isn't a hot bed for girls HS basketball.
Like, Minnesota for instance. They've been kind of puttering along too. But they brought back a famous alumni as a HC and from watching Paige Bueckers HS games, there is a lot of HS basketball talent in MSP. I think Minnesota has a much better chance of being top-15 before Penn State.

You mean they seem good because of the results of games they played ...
Crazy.
