That was a short-lived stay at #25. TCU loses by 10 to Texas who decided to put on their "big girl pants" today and shot 43% from the field. Celeste Taylor got hot, 22 points, despite the Longhorns baking 20 turnovers.

I posted this on the NCAA site in the Bracketology thread, but then I realized it should go here....

A couple upsets today:
#12 Texas A&M list to unranked Alabama, and #12 Arizona State just lost to unranked Utah...

Arizona State losing to Utah was Sunday.
#21 Missouri St lost to Illinois State though.

My Crimson Tide with back-to-back victories over top 15 teams for the first time in their history. Plus, both of those wins were on the road. Alabama is 7-8 with one game left at home against 5-10 Missouri. Kristy Curry has had two 7-9 SEC seasons in Tuscaloosa. If they win on Sunday, it will be the first .500 league finish in 18 years.

Pretty impressive. I can't stand your coach, but the team really amazed me with the win over Miss. St. Hope they grind Mizzou into dust, can't deal with them at all.

JMU exacted some serious revenge on Drexel tonight at the Convo Center, beating the Dragons 69-39 in the next-to-last WBB ever to be played there and going back atop the standings in the CAA. The Dukes came out on fire and shot the lights out in the 1Q, while Drexel couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a ball bat. Halftime score was 38-12. Vaunted 3 point shooter Bailey Greenberg seemed to have the yips and Drexel PG Hannah Nihill pretty much threw a sulky fit on the bench when pulled out with 2 fouls. Ugly for them, but sweet revenge for our girls.

In what is hopefully Sharon Versyp's last game at Purdue (minus the conference tournament, I suppose), players are show no fire to play for their coach's job. With just under three minutes left, they are down to Ohio State by more than 20 points AT MACKEY ARENA.

Rare to see 2 teams beat each other by more than 20 points in the same season. A minor correction, Bailey Greenberg is Drexel's leading scorer but she only averages about 1 made three per game through her career. Their leading 3 point shooter is Keishana Washington who comes off the bench but generally plays more than 20 minutes a game. In the last 10 games she has gone 25-54 from outside the arc, including 6-8 in the first game against JMU (where Drexel won 70-48)

That may be, but Bailey has kept trying to shoot 'em every time she's been down here, and done pretty well, all things considered. Last night she was being driven out of her mind by JMU's defense and it showed. Washington didn't do too badly but got in some foul trouble.

Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee are in a double OT barn burner. MTSU has its entire front court foul out. WKU was bailed out by a foul with 0.1 to go in the first OT. MTSU leads 97-91 with 3:30 to go

Checked in on #11 Gonzaga mainly to watch the freshman Truong twins in action. Zags other pair of twins, the Wirths led the scoring today against Portland and won handily 56-42. It was a fairly close game most of the way but mid-3rd quarter Zags opened it up.

Rutgers leading #18 Iowa at halftime. RU shooting just 34%, Iowa 40%. Refs have swallowed their whistles and aren't calling fouls.

Turnover fest as Iowa has 19, Rutgers 18.

And Bluders teams always get killed on the boards. Gulliares is clamping down on Doyle blocking shots and stealing the ball. Even with all that, Iowa only trailing g by 2 with 3:30 left

Knights win 78-74. Outrebounded Iowa 22-10 on oboards and had 16 steals against Hawks. Iowa continued to get great offense from Monica Czinano and exemplary shooting from frosh Gabbi Marshall. But fell apart in too many other areas.

Rutgers locks down their D in overtime vs. Iowa to get the win, 78-74. With their win, Rutgers will be the #5 seed in the Big Ten tournament.
