UConn, still trying to perfect the 1993 offense, ekes out 66 points, 18 points in the paint, 18 turnovers and a 43% shooting percentage against UCF to win by 13.
Walker and Makurat played well, while Christyn Williams seems to have gone back to middle school or something. |

UConn has always struggled against teams that play physical basketball going back to their BE games against Rutgers. UCF got away with a lot and like most physical teams, they pushed the envelope until they finally got called for a couple of flagrant fouls in the 4th period when Nelson-O took an elbow to her nose and Dangerfield got a facial on a drive. Games against UCF will not be missed in Storrs next year.

I, for one, don't think the Olivia Nelson-A-Boo-Boo elbow was intentional, and Kaba was seen to apologize to her in the handshake line.
This was just another game in a season that will be remembered by those with long memories as a reminder of how things can be and have been.
It's bad enough when your senior PG continues to make freshman mistakes when surrounded by AAs. When surrounded by this group, it's a recipe for an "early" tournament exit.
However, this was Senior Day, and Dangerfield is to be lauded for doing her best with what Geno gave her for the final go-round. She has been the one constant all season, imo, and has been, many times, the reason CT has lost only 3 games.
-----------
I'm a little tired of the crying, from Geno on down to the dumbest Boner, about other teams being physical. Yes, the rake across Dangerfield's face was pathetic and unacceptable. But, the shoving and bumping for position, especially in the paint, is part of the game.
"Oh poor Olivia". "Oh poor Megan".
Bah!
Maybe things will change with Elliott's return to the bench.

I agree with most of this post as we are a bunch of wimps. However, UCF pushes the envelope of physicality to me and borders on dirty. It's been like this since Abe took over.
