PostPosted: 03/26/20 6:32 pm    ::: 2020 Rebkell Fantasy WNBA Draft Reply Reply with quote

Hello One and All! I thought that it would be fun if we did a Rebkell WNBA Draft, as if we are the GMs of the Teams! We had done it in previous years (2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019) and I'm hoping we have enough interest to do it again. So I'm here opening this thread up to see if we have interest in doing it again!?

Previous Year's Threads: 2014 Fantasy Draft | 2015 Fantasy Draft | 2018 Fantasy Draft | 2019 Fantasy Draft

What We Need: A GM for each team to select their draftees from the 2020 WNBA Draft Class in ALL 3 Rounds

When: We will begin on April 8th. We will start on that date due to April 7th being the last day that we can have people declare early. So once we have all 12 GMS, we can discuss on whether we want to begin with a rolling draft and/or a rolling draft/set date combo

How It Works: You have just been hired as the new General Manager for one of the 12 WNBA Teams. It is your job to select the players in the draft positions you have that you believe would be best for your organization! [We will just stick with drafting this year in the order we have.]

If you are interested, post what team you would like to be in charge of. First posted gets the team. You want to get a few posters to do it together or you can take on the challenge yourself! Whatever works best for you!

2020 Teams and GMs:
Atlanta Dream - hoopmom
Chicago Sky - Rock Hard
Connecticut Sun - myrtle
Dallas Wings - Cooper2009
Indiana Fever - toad455
Las Vegas Aces - myrtle
Los Angeles Sparks - Rock Hard
Minnesota Lynx - Shades
New York Liberty - J-Spoon
Phoenix Mercury - TotalCardinalMove
Seattle Storm - Admiral Needa
Washington Mystics - calbearman76

I should be Dallas because that many 1st round picks need to be treated right, but Iโ€™ll be Minnesota.

I will do NY again

it won't be too thrilling as we all know who is #1 is so it is really only the #13 pick that holds any interest and #26 is likely a camp fodder pick.

unless someone else really wants to do it I don't want to be selfish

Also who ever does pick Dallas should be very active

(In the past some people have been very slow to check if they were up and with Dallas having 5 picks in the first 15 it could take weeks if it isn't an on the ball type of poster.)

Good job. I don't care who Minnesota picks, so I wasn't going to steal that job from you again this year. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Connecticut, Las Vegas & Los Angeles don't have first-round picks. So they'll [likely] be last picked. Las Vegas also doesn't have a second-round pick. Since New York is taken, I'll pick Indiana.

You drafted really well. Collier dropped to #9 though. I guess nobody was particularly high on her. She had a blessed season with Christmas being out.
6. Minnesota - Jackie Young, Notre Dame [Actually went #1] Score: +5
16. Minnesota - Xu Han, China [Actually went #14] Score: +2
18. Minnesota - Bridget Carleton, Iowa State [Actually went #21] Score: -3
20. Minnesota - Jessica Shepard, Notre Dame [Actually went #16] Score: +4
30. Minnesota - Cierra Dillard, Buffalo [Actually went #20] Score: +10

Total score: +18

The GMs ahead of me were supposed to draft Jackie Young so I wouldn't be forced to take her. (Though at the time I didn't know the Lynx were going to end up with Sims and Brown). Actually I was going to draft Kristine Anigwe for months when I found out her name rearranged is "Wise Tanking Ire", so maybe I saved myself from that. Smile
