Why?

For those wondering, Gemelos is now 31 years old.

Passion for the game would be my honest guess.

Sun's roster/bench is thin, she actually has a chance.

They've currently got 1 1/2 spots on the end of their bench, filled by Jazmon Gwathmey and Valeriane Vukosavljevic. So yeah, who the hell knows.

And I'm sure no one else cares, but just in case you want the actual message that first made the signing public - which isn't linked in the story - it's here: https://twitter.com/RichardCohen1/status/1237785933161869318?s=20

Also, "...that earns the three-year veteran $68K guaranteed if she makes the team following camp" is completely inaccurate, but most of you guys have a good enough understanding of the league to know that.

Huff had/has a lot of talent...at least in college. I assume she's been playing oveerseas?

She was at TTT Riga this year. Lots of minutes for 11p/9r in EuroLeague on not-great percentages, but on a team that was underpowered for that level of competition.

She's taking a 2 year hiatus from basketball to get a law degree

I believe Kelsey Griffin is in a suspended contract with the Lynx, but there has been absolutely been no recent talk of her status with the Lynx. It would be nice to know for draft purposes if she’s being invited to an eventual camp. Right now with Fagbenle unsigned, I consider the Lynx full in the guard and wing positions and light in the post positions.

Just find it odd to see a pair of foreigners signing now considering there may not be a season.

Plus, the borders are closed. I would think opening the borders would be one of the later things to happen, since closing them was one of the first.

If the league's going to carry on like the season will take place - even if slightly delayed - can't blame the teams and players for doing so as well. Also, these deals might've been done ages ago and only finally been rubber-stamped/announced.

I keep hoping that Tamika will pick Ty Harris for the Fever! I know they have a point guard but they could have a backup! Keeping fingers crossed that Ty can play with Tiffany Mitchell, a past teammate.

You want them to trade down then, like #3 for #5 + #7 or whatever.

The Phx heat will be a nice change from the Melbourne cold for a couple of weeks for Blicavs.

Typically a 4 down here, but trying to become more of a 3 for the Opals. Still very streaky as a shooter though so I suspect she will be too tweenery for the WNBA.

Played alongside Leilani Mitchell & Mercedes Russell for Southside, who reached the WNBL finals so you can see her in action in these games

I seriously doubt she will ever play again. Her history in high school and college reveals someone who really does not love the game. She took breaks in both high school and college. I believe she played because it was expected of her and to get a degree.

ATL sign Coates to a training camp contract.
https://www.herosports.com/wnba/atlanta-dream-alaina-coates-training-camp-nicki-collen-ruru

Coates is good enough to make a roster as a backup center. I think this means the draft focus will definitely be on the perimeter.
