Good player ... I think Verhulst is a potential all-American (emphasize "potential").

HG #2 Olivia Miles commits to Notre Dame

HG #20 Rori Harmon commits to Texas. Reportedly for Harmon and came down to Baylor are the Longhorns. Chalk one up for Vic.

Interesting, especially in light of the fact that Hoopgurlz doesn't even have TX (or MS St) on her 'also considering' list. Apparently, The Bruins, The Seminoles, The Fighting Irish, The Orange, and The Gamecocks will all be disappointed. Shocked

It's not really surprising. She's from Oklahoma so Texas would typically make sense but likely she didn't want Miss St, and didn't want Aston. Putting Vic in Austin suddenly made Texas a good choice where it wasn't before.

Plus it's really hard to tell how much staying closer to home has suddenly become a much bigger deal for some families in these days of the pandemic, a factor that didn't exist when the years of recruiting these players occurred and when these lists of "favored" schools were created. Those other schools are all a lot farther away.

Notre Dame just landed 5 star 6'1 guard Sonia Citron. Not even a week on the job and Niele has secured the starting backcourt from the 2019 Gold Medal winning USA Under 16 Championship team. Shocked

Jersey Wolfenbarger is the real deal ... her coach says she's 6-4 now, and her basic position is point guard.

Great get for Mike Neighbors ...

“It felt like the right decision, so I didn’t want to wait anymore,” said Citron, who shared the news Sunday evening via Twitter. “Other than everything Notre Dame has to offer in terms of education and tradition, it came down to Coach (Niele) Ivey and hearing what she has planned for the program. I’m just really excited to be part of it now.”

The decision came down to Stanford and Notre Dame. Citron also had Duke, North Carolina and Michigan on her short list.

She picked up a string of postseason honors, including Gatorade New York Player of the Year, Section 1 Girls Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year and Journal News Player of the Year.

They already got one. Keyen Green from Liberty, who can fill Lou Brown's shoes nicely. I've seen her play several times (Liberty comes up here every year to get stomped by JMU) and she was the best thing they had by far--one of those head-scratcher "why the hell did she go THERE?" players. Of course she got hurt last fall but she's had plenty of time to recover. She should be a real steadying influence next year, and with Kellie coaching her, better than she was at Liberty.

Maybe she was duped by old stories of their "Glory Dayz", when the Frazee triplets were playing there. But even THAT should have been overridden by who's the president there. Razz

Oh yes, of course. I should have specific a grad transfer *point guard* - think if they have a steady ball handler who can come in and penetrate and dish and run the game pace/clock, they will be set. I wouldn't want Kellie to hand the point guard keys to Horston for 2020-2021, she should play off the ball as much as possible.
