Saw this final on ESPN app. Needless to say I am surprised by this outcome, despite the recent events going on in Minnesota Women's Basketball. Maybe Wisconsin is beginning to turn the corner. Still a long way to go. And Nina Smith just popped into my head..._________________ If you cannot inspire yourself to read a book about women's basketball, or any book about women's sports, you cannot inspire any young girl or boy to write a book about them. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Richardstrek |

Clemson back from being down 22 to tie with Miami with about a minute to go.

Miami with a three and they are now at the line. Missed both.
14.9 to go. Clemson TO to advance the ball.

Clemson with a not-so-good shot. Miami makes a FT and wins by 4.

Watching the end of UVA-Louisville. Louisville is decent. UVA has Jocelyn Willoughby and a bunch of bodies. Or nobodies. Not a surprise Bri Tinsley transferred out.

JMU hosted Hofstra tonight and were most ungracious about it, beating up on the Pride 92-50. It would have been worse but Coach O was shuffling everyone in and out right up until halfway through the 4Q because Northeastern is coming to town and he didn't want anyone to be overtired for them. Hofstra is spectacularly bad this year (3-14) and I'm wondering if the coach's seat is just a teeny bit warm.

I won't miss watching UConn play ECU. They stink and so they resort to turning the game into a mosh pit. The only good thing about them today was that they played at a frenetic pace and forced UConn to pick up their speed from the plodding style they had shown earlier in the season.
Nice to see the freshmen playing well. Makurat 8-10 from 3. Griffin starting to resemble Gabby Williams.

Down 50-42 after three quarters, Texas holds OK-State to 6 points in the 4th with a 19 point onslaught to win 61-56. Friday they will try to upset Baylor. If Nylssa Smith is till a no-go for the Lady Bears and Longhorns drain their three's, they could do it.
Awesome display of shooting by Texas Tech today in the first half against Baylor, but the Lady Bears' D eventually put the clamps on them in the second half. Brewer played really well.

Nebraska defeated Wisconsin today 72-71 at the Kohl Center. During halftime, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Badgers winning the WNIT Championship. I was hoping to go, but without a car, getting there was impossible. Otherwise, I would have had photos._________________ If you cannot inspire yourself to read a book about women's basketball, or any book about women's sports, you cannot inspire any young girl or boy to write a book about them. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Richardstrek |

Northeastern came down to Harrisonburg today and were rudely received by JMU, who beat up on them 67-54. It was actually not as close a game as the score would indicate. JMU led wire to wire in a fast-paced game that featured, shall we say, some creative foul calling by the referees. Rookie Kiki Jefferson led the Dukes with 17, and fellow freshman Rayne Tucker had 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in just 23 minutes.
