5P EST
Chicago, IL

Live Stats: https://depaulbluedemons.com/sidearmstats/wbball/summary

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/BIGEASTConference
Caffeine: https://www.caffeine.tv/bedn

This is the first year the BE is using Caffeine - I'm not sure what the difference is between the YouTube and Caffeine links - guess I'll find out this afternoon Smile. All I know is the game should be streamed online for free.

I was reading DePaul's preview about the game and had to laugh when I read this:

Marquette is off to a strong start under new coach Megan Duffy who recruited a deep class of freshmen headed by BIG EAST Preseason Freshman of the Year Jordan King to replenish a program that graduated all five starters.

I think Duffy has done a fabulous job so far but she didn't recruit a single frosh - they were all recruited by her predecessor Carolyn Kieger.

Maybe she didn’t actually recruit them, but she still got them to stay, which can be a challenge when a successful, well-known coach leaves a program.

Oh yes - I know she had to put on a good sales pitch for the 8 recruits Kieger had signed. Top recruit Shemera Williams had already tweeted out within hours of Kieger's announced departure that she was reopening her recruitment. Duffy ended up getting 6 of the 8 recruits to come to MU still with a number of fans complaining that their best recruit went elsewhere (Williams to Virginia). But I thought the 6 of 8 retention was pretty good.

Marquette has 13 to's in the first 15 minutes - ugh!!!

Marquette is a really good rebounding team this year but it doesn't matter much if you don't hold onto the ball. It's only a matter of time before DePaul runs away with this one - they lead 27-22 with 4:55 to go in the 2nd quarter.

This one was streamed live free on Youtube (not Youtube TV).

I caught the 4th quarter and was switching back and forth with Washington-Washington State

I tried the twitter, YouTube and Caffeine links for one of the earlier Big East games and they all were basically the free game broadcast online. I'm still not sure what the Caffeine platform really is. I preferred the YouTube broadcast which I originally had up on my laptop for the MU game and then switched to my TV. At times I kind of wish I couldn't have seen it as all those MU to's are quite painful to watch Sad. This outcome didn't surprise me and Marquette has a tough way to open BE play as they now have the toughest road trip in the BE next - at Creighton Fri night and a quick turnaround to play at Providence Sun afternoon with a time zone change in there too along with a long distance to travel in the short time.
