Not a surprise that the reserves for Team USA laid down the gauntlet. Diggins-Smith and Ogunbowale looked pretty good playing together It will be a shame when Augustus is named to the Olympic team instead of Deshields.

I don't think there's the same level of attachment to Augustus as with Bird and Taurasi, and with her actually trying to play this season the drop-off has been more visible. I think there's a decent chance that they leave her behind.

Doesn't necessarily mean DeShields makes it, though. If we assume the core 8 for this offseason are heavy favourites to all make it, and then Griner and Stewart are obviously going if they want to and are remotely healthy, that only leaves two spots to even remotely fight over. Or one if Maya Moore decides she wants to play basketball again.
