I know this isn't much of a matchup, but Alabama A&M led San Diego St 37-15 at the half. The Aztecs are trying to avoid the embarrassing loss and have cut the lead in half, but still trail 47-36 after 3.

No field goals in the last 6:49 for Alabama A&M. No problem. A&M pulls the upset 61-53. Dauriana Lewis scores 31 and pulls down 17 boards in the win.

Duke is getting ready to play UNLV in a few minutes. For some reason they are playing the game at the Thomas & Mack (17,000 capacity) instead of the attached Cox Pavilion (3,000) where the Lady Rebels usually play. Cox would be maybe 1/3 full.

The game started off with some fireworks, literally. But as for the game itself, it was sloppy, particularly on the part of Duke. They have a huge talent edge but their bugs have no hands and the team looks like it is trying to remember what they are supposed to do instead of playing basketball.
Duke13 UNLV 13 after 1 period.

This one's a real shootout....both shooting 50+% on FGs AND 3s (OK approaching 60% on 3s)

Bears win 96-90! Both finished over 50% shooting. Llanusa scored 30 for OU & Willard had 27 for MSU.

South Carolina looks good. I don’t want to speak too soon , but this is the first gamecock team I’ve seen that does not have that stigmatic Offensively challenged system. This year they have some legit ballers who can fill it up. They are my F4 sleeper pick.

A couple of MAC teams are up on in-state B1G teams - Ohio is up 12 in the 4Q against Ohio State, and UNI is up by 13 midway through 2Q over Iowa.

Ohio beat OSU for the first time ever! Final 74-68. |
That was fun. First time the teams had played in 15 years, although they are only 70 miles apart. The Bobcats built a lead around good 3-point shooting and outmuscling the Buckeyes' very tall front line, some of whom don't care much for contact. When OSU extended its defense to contest the three, Ohio guards blew by their defenders and scored on layups. OSU threw on an effective full court press to tie the game late, but Ohio steadied and rallied to put it away. Even better that the win came on the Buckeyes' home court.

Tynice Martin returned to the WV team after accepting a plea bargain for domestic violence charges thereby having her suspension lifted. In the win against Radford, she had 6 points in 20 minutes.

St. John's came down to Harrisonburg thinking they would find a demoralized team after the Maryland loss. Um, not quite. There were some struggles in the middle of the game and it looked like the Red Storm might pull it out, but the Dukes came storming back in the 4th and beat them, 76-73. The return of Jackie Benitez from her shoulder injury helped a LOT as she had 19 points along with Kamiah Smalls' 25. Also rebounding proves to be the Dukes' strong suit as they led the Johnnies in that department 43-26.
