ROUND THREE:*

11/18 Hofstra

11/19 Southern Mississippi
11/19 E Illinois

11/20 Ball St.
11/20 Cal Poly
11/20 Bradley
11/20 Boise St

11/21 Penn St

11/21 UAB
11/21 Fresno St

11/22 UMKC

11/23 Duquesne
11/23 Oklahoma
11/23 Texas A&M

11/24 Boston College
11/24 Tulane
11/24 Rutgers
11/24 Charlotte**

*Making these selections held all the glamor and entertainment value of an afternoon at a gynecologist's office for me, a gay man. Cal, you've outdone yourself. Shocked Razz

**This last selection created the most turmoil of all, for me. Charlotte must win this, 'on paper', but between Cal's devilment and Pure's, Lynxy's and Hoopsy's wisdom, I'm in a quandary. If Myrtle picks Fordham, then I'm golden. Cool

it's probably my fault if Stanford loses...doing this instead of rooting on my team. But it was pretty painful to watch.

Week 1 results:

In a week where the percentage of winners was 50.7% for all players, Pureform had a truly remarkable effort. His 15 correct was 2 better than anyone else, but even more impressively he did so picking only 19 of the 20 games (no pick on the BYU_Washington St game. It was a tough week as no one correctly picked South Florida over Texas, only 2 (Summertime and Ready) had South Carolina over Maryland and only 3 (Hoopsmom, Summertime and Pureform) had Missouri St over Minnesota.

I rechecked the totals listed by Coyotes and there were two changes.

1. Pureform - 15
2. Coyotes - 13
3. Hoop(S)mom - 12
3. Dinkytown - 12
5. Summertime - 11
5. Matt - 11
5. Myrtle - 11
8. calbearman - 10
8. readyAIMfire - 10
8. Lynx - 10
11. Hoopmom - 9
11. Howee - 9
13. Adamj - 7
14. Pilight - 5

I haven't even looked at it all week, knowing that it wasn't going to be pretty!

Week 2 results (UGLY)

Congratulations to Readyaimfire for being only one of two players to get more than half of the games correct and winning the week with 13 correct. Also kudos to Coyotes for being the other +.500 player, moving into 1st place for the season.

Overall the 12 players this week were able to get 45% of the games right, something less than a bulldog pooping out his predictions. I say Bulldog because Yale beat Quinnipiac, a game that only Myrtle correctly prognosticated. Three other games are worthy of note for our collective struggles. Stony Brook (my hometown) beat Hofstra 81-38 but only Pilight and Pureform took the Sea Wolves. Northwestern outscored Duke 29-4 in the third quarter en route to a 63-42 victory, with only Hoopsmom and Coyotes on the Wildcats. (After seeing Duke on Thursday this result didn't surprise me one bit.) And Georgia Tech destroyed Georgia 73-40, but only Coyotes, Adam and HOWEE!!! rambled with the Wreck.

Based on our results of the first two weeks I have decided that week 4's games will be easier. (Not Tennessee vs Arkansas Pine Bluff easy, mind you.)

1. ReadyAimFire 13 (23 -2 week total)
2. Coyotes 12 (25)
3. Adamj 10 (17)
3. Dinkytown 10 (22)
5. Lynxmania 9 (19)
5. Howee 9 (18)
5. Matt 9 (20)
8. Myrtle 8 (19)
8. Calbearman 8 (18)
10. Hoopsmom 7 (19)
10. Pilight 7 (12)
10. Pureform 7 (22)

We just saw Hofstra lose by 43 to Stony Brook. I didn't think it was an outlandish pick. At least I have moved ahead of you for the season Very Happy , but still under .500

Sorry for the late posting of games for next week. All picks should be in by 4pm Wednesday. Additionally I have not included home team designations because as I was selecting the games I noticed some where a home team was shown even though the games were at neutral sites.

To everyone, HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I would like to volunteer to pick games for either week 11 (January 13-19) or week 12 (January 20-26).

My theory is that if I pick the games, I should be better at prognosticating. Unfortunately in the past the correlation hasn't seemed to live up to its billing. But I have hopes!
