I’m glad the Mystics got to celebrate their last win of the season this weekend.

So still no BG news ? Did she just give up on the team ? Left bubble no reason and has not returned or even a projection as to if she will return . How does the WNBA not have more details on this ? You would never see the likes of Lebron/AD/Giannis etc not have updates on their status in the league with their respective teams smh.

Mercury have too much offensive firepower to lose this game.

Which is interesting, considering their offense is predominantly two players deep..

Don't forget about SWK. I used to watch a lot of John Woo films. His protagonists would only need two handguns to take care of business. Wink

I've been frustrated by this too. The only thing I've read in the media is that we have to respect her leaving because it's "personal" reasons. I think the W and the W media still try to protect the image at all cost even though drama is what sells. I mean, couldn't we at least get rumours? Shoot.

Y'all are absolutely right. None of this shit would fly in the NBA and other men's leagues, where the media being up in players' business is The Standard™️. Women's media coverage I think is getting there - albeit slower than most of us passionate fans would like - but I hope that that kind of media/fan interest hasn't already plateaued. Maybe if the Merc had actually been playing worse after Griner left, we'd get more of an outcry over Griner's unknown absence 🙃Since it's somehow the opposite(??) and the casual fans/supporters don't seem to care; it's as if the mainstream has all but forgotten about her.

As a huge BG fan, I feel like the league has failed every step of the way to market her. Are showcasing her dunks effective? Sure but she has/had the potential to be a star off the court.

+1 ,

Along with stormeo as well . The league has been able to hide this due to the Mercs success without her .

Brittney shot herself in the foot as far as being a top face of the WNBA. Her armed fight with Glory was pretty awful. Add in throwing punches on the court and you've got a PR disaster on your hands.

As far as her exit from the bubble, I did hear early on that her dad was sick. Not sure why she chose to keeep that private but maybe that's her family's choice.

Britt can work to re-make her image, but it will take some steady, focused work to do so.

Nah, it's all about her. It's her responsibility to mature, change get better, etc.
Blaming others for a one"s lack is just pure BS - the blame game. She's earned everything she's received and everything didn't achieve....just like everyone else.

If you believe twitter, it would appear she’s back in Phoenix. A couple of people have tweeted out that they saw BG at Target in Phoenix.

Well there was a rumor. I've heard hat one of her parents was sick and she left because of that. Of course this is all speculation. However, I think it's worth mentioning that BG was considering not playing this season.

Also, as far as marketing goes, I believe that it should also be said that she may have decided that she doesn't want to be a big star off the court. I've noticed that in recent years, BG has been selective with certain media.

Did you know the Mystics are undefeated in single elimination games?

Wow that was a bad shooting quarter for Phoenix. Washington was able to take advantage of some mismatches as well and is shooting 50%. That shot by Gemelos, who would have guessed it’d go in?

Alaina Coates has everything going for her: consistent minutes, great coaching, on a playoff aka not particularly talent-deficient team. The fact that she can't even look halfway decent under these ultra-favorable circumstances speaks volumes.

Have they never been eliminated from the playoffs in a game 3 or 5? Serious question.

They have, but then so has Diana
