Right now, Carleton doesn’t know what the future looks like, but she hopes it involves WNBA training camp next month. She has already learned the Olympics this summer won’t be taking place until 2021.

“My plans are to attend the Minnesota Lynx training camp at the end of April. I will also be training with the Senior Women’s National Team at some point in the next few months.”

I guess these “experts” don’t realize the Lynx only have 4 signed post players, and one of them is a training camp contract; another is coming off an ACL injury. I’d rather have one of those high-regard post players if Carter or Walker isn’t available.

But if Reeve feels she HAS to go PG, Harris is the one I’d like of the players likely available at #6. But I’m hoping it doesn’t happen. Reeve knows she doesn’t have the patience to develop a rookie PG (What ever happened to Lindsey Moore or Alexis Jones?) She’d rather just sign a veteran PG.

The Lynx are likely to land a very good to great PG/G in free agency next season when teams can’t afford to pay some of their players (Plum, Cloud, JThomas, etc).

https://m.startribune.com/lynx-need-a-point-guard-but-could-draft-a-forward-at-no-6-in-wnba-draft/569715072/

Sounds like Reeve isn't too worried about a point guard. She's okay with going into the season with just combo guards acknowledging that it could potentially get "really ugly" for a time. But she's high on the PGs that will be available next year in FA and the draft.

Youngblood says Reeve sees three "legit prospects" that she thinks may be available to her at pick 6, and she will go with one of those. In his top 6 mock draft he has the Lynx picking Alarie.

If the Lynx management don't have a problem using what they currently have on their roster to play the point guard position then that means they will draft Walker if she falls down to #6. A certain poster on this board was amused by my first round draft pick in the 2020 fantasy draft. I will have the same amount of amusement if the Lynx drafts Alarie with the #6 pick. Wink
MAD KIKI!

Maybe they like the idea of them being able to switch, or maybe after how last year went the plan's changed, but they did draft Collier as primarily a 3. And Walker's primary position as a pro is almost certainly going to be the 3. You don't really want to draft someone at #6 if they're going to be stuck behind a 30mpg 23-year-old you're hoping becomes a star (unless they're so far and away the best player available that you just can't ignore them).

I'm honestly probably going to be okay with whoever we select at #6 - unless its some random no one has heard of Laughing

I think we take someone who is the best fit/player available and see how it goes this year. Obviously its going to be a down year, but I'll be okay with anyone I think.

And I am ridiculously nervous even though the Lynx draft #6, lol. Every year I get nervous before the draft.

I'm in the same boat. I kind of like the idea of shooting for the stars with someone like Alarie. Not super psyched about the PGs in this draft after Carter (if you consider her one).

So any of bigs with upside...

I asked for a big with upside. Don't hate the pick, but wouldn't be where I would have gone.

Glad they didn't go PG or Walker, though.

Just mad at the Wings for grabbing Alarie.

But for what? They already gave up their 2nd and 3rd rounders in 2021 in other deals.
