I doubt many Rebkellians are shocked by this, but we didn't really predict it either.

It would be more than a little ironic, if not downright inexplicable, that the coach who improved her team by the most wins was fired, and Katie Smith hung on.

(To be clear, I think firing Pokey is the right move, despite that late-season burst -- but still ...)

I wonder if Catchings will name herself as coach, or at least GM. 🤔

I know Natalie Achonwa wants to go into coaching. Too soon?

Is the timing for Tanisha Wright perfect? Probably too soon for her also.

Listening to the color commentary of certain Fever games , I’ve always thought Tully Bevilaqua sounded like a better coach than Pokey.

Catchings has a Tennessee connection. Might she take a look at Holly Warlick? Hope not.

Has Stephanie White kept her job at Vanderbilt?

Does Lin Dunn want to return? She’s not really retired, but maybe her current job is the perfect load of responsibilities for her right now.

Please, no Fred Williams.

Doesn’t mean it still can’t happen. Could only choose one.

I would not be shocked at all to see Pokey hired by an NBA team with the job of helping to develop the teams point guards. That's one thing she did well it seems. I know it sounds crazy but Boucek was fired by Storm and picked up by an NBA team. Might be in the g-league though.

I think they go the Connecticut route and get someone from the NCAA.

I think it is a bit too soon for Brooke Wykoff but I can see her being a head coach someday.

How about Erin Phillips ? I think she'd like to be a head coach, she's played for the Fever.

Is Jennifer Rizzotti interested or does she like things at George Washington ?

I'd throw former Fever Niele Ivey out there but she just got hired by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Jenny Boucek might be interested in being top banana again

The list of coaching candidates has to start with Shelley Patterson if she's interested.

Actually, Curt Miller was picked up from the Sparks, so he had a sliver of WNBA experience.

Anytime would be too soon for me. Not one of my favorite commentators.

Trust me, Tully Bevilaqua would be better if she’s interested.

Isn’t she supposed to be one of the top nominees for the UConn job when Geno retires? If that’s the case, better to stay in college mode. Keep honing those college coaching skills.

You already explained why it’s not happening.

See Niele Ivey, Sue Bird, or Becky Hammon. The WNBA jobs aren’t that great or stable.

I think you are thinking of Brooke Weisbrod, Shades. Brooke Wycoff played for the Sun and has been on Florida State's coaching staff since 2011.

Yeah, you’re probably right.

After Jenny was fired as the Head Coach from two WNBA teams (Sacramento and Seattle), I can't imagine another WNBA team giving Jenny a chance as a Head Coach.

Absolutely too soon! At the very least, she is a high quality backup to McCowan and Dupree.

when boucek parted way with ann donovan's storm, she stay with the organization (the sonics), and held the position of the first woman full time scout of an nba team. so when she was fired by the storm as head coach, she was not unknown to the nba community.

pokey failed in chicago, i questioned why the fever would hired her in the first place.

it seems like the fever front office should be fired first/now before any further moves.

I've always thought she was a filler coach until they could find someone better. With that said Fever did start to look better in the later half of the season.

She was hired by Kelly Krauskopf, who is still in the Pacers org, but is no longer with the Fever.

I don’t really seeing her waiting until she’s used up as a player to go into coaching. If you have the knack, why wait? Maybe the overseas money is still too good to pass up, I dunno. But I bet she’s starting to put those coaching feelers out there.
