Zahui.... how often does a player have like a perfect game plus 37 pts.... on the road on the second of a back-to-back game? Girl brought it and didn’t get it back from the league. Got the win though.

They screwed over Zahui B this week. Wouldn't have picked Zahui B and McBride.

Zahui B also scored 6 points in a game where her team was obliterated. No one wins POW with that kind of game during the week.

I remember back in the glum days of 2012 when Bonner was awarded POW multiple times within a tank-guided team where she shot in the 30%’s. That janitor definitely needed to be kicked to the curb, but let’s not take it to the other extreme. You think a player’s team needs to have a perfect record on the week to win POW? No, I don’t think so. A winning record should be more than sufficient. Katie Smith gave up on the Aces game to save some juice for the Sparks game. Turned out to be an excellent move. This is a player award, not a team award.

Career high (37 pts) plus better average stats would have been the kicker for me. Also better in blocks which isn’t shown here.

Nurse had a pretty good argument too.

Jones captures her third consecutive (Eastern Conference) Player of the Week honors for the season.

Pilight, has a player ever opened the season with three consecutive conference POY honors?

Yes. Elena Delle Donne opened 2015 with three straight.

This is actually Jones' fourth consecutive POW award. She also won the last one of last season.

Is Jones the first to win four POW in a row?

Has anyone won four in a row to start the season?

No and no.

Maya Moore won four straight in 2014. No player has won the first four of a season.

It is so silly that they continue to do this by conference. The All-Star game and the play-offs have eschewed conferences, but we still have to award two POWs in a 12-team league.

It's just silly.

Maybe they’re confused on how it should be handled. Should it drop to one POW, or should it be top 2 POW regardless of conference?

Do they even do POW for NBA? I’ve never seen such a thing promoted.

I’m also curious what happened to ROW? When did they stop doing that?

They do ROM, not ROW. We haven't had a complete calendar month yet this season.

Who has won this award more than EDD? I think it's just Charles, Jackson, Taurasi, Catchings, and Moore.

Candace Parker has won more times than EDD. Angel McCoughtry also has 16, the same as Elena.

Rookie of the month is Arike Ogunbowale

It's first such award for each of them

Sorry, but Arike didn't deserve rookie of the month. Should've been Collier or Durr.
