Doyle is a pretty long shot to make the team. No way they dump Laney instead of her.

Laney's nothing special and Doyle is cheaper. Might keep Doyle especially if Allemand doesn't show(then Laney sticks).

No way Laney gets dumped in favor of Doyle . Laney is their best defender if they ever had one Laughing Laughing . I love your optimism though !!

yes, the world lost a very good one when she died. I wonder how her child has done - think it was a boy.

Yes she did , didn't she also have a twin or a sibling just as tall ?

I wouldn't have Doyle or Laney on this roster.

PG: Wheeler/Allemand
SG: K. Mitchell/T. Mitchell
SF: Vivians/Burke
PF: Dupree/Cox
C: McCowan/Achonwa/Hatar

And then someone on the waiver wire. I don't really care for any of the other players the Fever still have. Confused Though it's still hard to tell what Marianne Stanley plans to do (differently) with the current group.

Marianne should just start Cox and McCowan and let them develop together. Dupree needs to go.

I never thought they should have picked her up in the first place.

Same. I'm surprised she signed that multi-year deal a little while back. I can't imagine she didn't get similar offers at the time from teams in a better position to contend. Would've been interested to see what return she would've yielded in a trade during Free Agency.

Does anyone think Kea could beat out Doyle and Allmerand

I thought she had some good games last season

I just do not understand the Doyle pick. I can't imagine her doing anything.

Smalls, January, Mavunga, Laney, Doyle all seem like easy cuts. Apparently one of them will make the roster.

And that's before wondering if the internationals make it here this season. Achonwa probably will, but who knows about the others.

I didn't understand the summary execution of Kea. I too think she is better than Doyle. Maybe she'll get a look somewhere else.

As I pointed out to Randy earlier, Indiana took Doyle all the way up at #14, ahead of a couple of other notable PG’s, Mighty Mite and Cooper. I don’t believe that was done randomly. I think they vetted the crap out of her and they really like her. Doyle was the Big Ten player of the year. Indiana is Big Ten territory. The Big Ten tournament is held in Indianapolis, making for easy scouting.

McCall was the bubble player among posts, so they cut her in favor of Cox. Kea must have been the bubble player among guards, so they cut her in favor of Doyle. That puts them at 16 players, only one away from 15 camp max.

Is there any reason to think Julie Allemand will show up?

She got signed to a multi year contract, while Hatar is just on a training camp contract.

She's still on a rookie contract after being drafted years ago. She's never come over before.

The rookie scale deal was gone. She did actually sign a new contract, starting at the minimum.

I would presume there's about as much reason to expect her to show up - or not show up - as any of the other international players. The team's twitter account had videos of her talking about how excited she was to join the team and all that sort of stuff when she signed. There was a little more meat to it than some of these random international signings.

Yeah I missed the post about her and McCall being waived

I thought LA might pick up Boyd because they need a back up/back up PG if Gray and Toliver start/play in the back-court together so maybe LA picks up Kea.

Is McCall a wing who could play the 4 and shoots the 3 the Liberty might need another one. j/k

Hatar will sit out 2020 season due to injury. Fever place Hatar on suspended list.

https://highposthoops.com/2020/05/01/fevers-bernadett-hatar-injured-will-miss-2020-season/

Fever sit at 15 now. Hatar sitting out gives Mavunga a strong case to make the team now.

IF Mavunga had been cut , she would have been a great pickup off waivers. She showed alot of promise last season .

I didn’t know you could suspend a training camp contract. Don’t think I’ve seen it done before. Are they that worried somebody else will sign her? I didn’t have her beating out anybody on the current squad.

Old bald tire pros using up playing time on young developing teams are usually "development restricters", like when they picked up Cappy Pondexter. Now Dupree is still good and should start for several games, but unless Indy really shines and has a chance to win big, I agree, consider trading her or use her more as a coach than a player.
