Semi-important game for playoff seeding. Mercury need to win last 3 home games to get the 6th seed from the Lynx while Lynx need to lose both remaining games. However, Lynx go on the road against Mercury and LA, so it could happen, but Mercury need to help themselves by winning over the Storm, Lynx and Aces. Looks like a tall order.

Seattle has a better chance of catching the Lynx, but not great and 3 road games remaining (Mercury, Sparks and Wings). If Storm and Lynx win out, Storm get the 6th seed from the Lynx since they hold the tiebreaker. If the Storm win one more remaining game than the Lynx they would get the 6 seed.

So this may just amount to Seattle and Phoenix fighting it out for 7th seed. In either case it would be good to have momentum going into the post season.

Mercury's first half was about as smooth as Howard's interview

Take a gotdang shot anytime Lobo mentions the f$&@ing fanny pack Mad

Also, Stewie’s sitting right there... anyone gonna ask her about her ambassadorship? Rolling Eyes

And Taurasi’s exactly right to criticize these broadcasts about how they don’t criticize the players enough, as these broadcasters in particular can be very buddy-buddy with the players and objectivity gets lost; next time they ask for Taurasi’s opinion, she could also mention how they only call the actual game maybe 50% of the time?? Laughing

+1 I don’t think she’s gonna find her shot this season, even in their playoff game (there won’t be two, at this point). Also... I really think Brondello’s time in Phoenix has run its course, though I hardly doubt the Phoenix front office gets rid of her in fear of the players rioting Rolling Eyes

Is Alanna Smith injured or just glued to the bench?

They are, at best, a second round exit team without her.

You gotta play her and hope she gets into game rhythm, gets her legs under her, and gets comfortable. Shockingly, this is Taurasi’s first time coming back from an extended absence from basketball because of injury. And she looks like it. I don’t know if she’ll be ready on time, but I wouldn’t count her out either.

She has had season-ending ankle surgery

i would not count taurasi out. she will burn you all comes playoff time.

brondello already had them all packed up ready for the playoff before the storm game last night.

that's one team that they know they can beat you at your own court.

What about her wisdom tooth injury? Wasn't that a long abscess?

Her first movement back was fairly instinctive to get out of the way...but then came the embellishment. To her credit, at least she didn't start holding her jaw.
