The bill specifically requires any entity making robocalls to first obtain the consent of those being called. The bill also requires the creation of reliable mechanisms whereby consumers can withdraw their consent.

They have stopped for me. They were driving me crazy for most of the last few years. Then as soon as this talk started about two months ago they stopped. Haven't gotten a spam call in a very long time.

You are lucky.


My question is how will they stop the scammers that are spoofing legit numbers?


The way these things tend to go is they add a higher burden, cost and overhead to the groups who use it the right way and have no impact on the scammers.


I get spoofed calls every day on my cell, work cell and work "land" line.
