I think it's probably Delle Donne's to lose at this point, but that requires her managing to stay on the court for the rest of the season.

Although if Wilson's out for a while and Vegas keep winning with Cambage as the focus, while continuing to be comfortably the best defense in the league, I could see a groundswell building behind Liz. And it's an unusual category to be worried about, but her minutes per game might need to go up a bit. I'd have to think that she'd be the first MVP to average under 25 minutes a night.

Wilson may be out up to 2 months. Cambage's numbers will continue to climb. Right now I feel it's:

1. Delle Donne
2. Howard
3. J Jones
4. Cambage

Not sure why people keep throwing Griner into this conversation.

She's leading the league in scoring while shooting 52% and she'll probably get votes for Defensive Player of the Year (even though I don't think she deserves them). It's not hard to see why people would throw her in. But even in a messy year I think she'd need the Merc to go on a run to really get involved. There are enough other candidates and she's been mediocre in too many games to win it on a .500 team.
