Joining the NWSL 'movement'
Women's soccer is not a cause to support, but a movement. And if the sold-out Red Stars game was any indication, it's growing every day.

All teams are seeing a boost, similar to 2015. Just wish the NWSL itself capitalized on this during the World Cup with proper advertising. Curious what SkyBlue gets on Wednesday. They might be the only team to not get a boost.

Would be better for the league if US soccer didn't give the league a one-finger salute with it's victory tour. The US players need to be playing in league games, not over-glorified exhibitions. Aug 2-3 games have big name clubs, without their big name players.

Houston is the only team without any USWNT members and are the only club to not get a boost. Their game last night only draw ~3,500. Reign FC & Sky Blue FC had their first-ever sellouts this past weekend.

July 13 game for Houston was just over 5300--high for the year and highest since 2018 home opener. July 28 match was a couple hundred higher than July 29 game. Without any US players, they still got a slight bump.

Sky Blue FC are considering moving their Aug. 18 game vs. Reign FC to Red Bulls Arena. The game is nearly sold-out at Yurcak Field. I think if given enough notice, they can get a big crowd for the game that will feature Rapinoe.

We can only hope. If it's a big enough crowd, hopefully Red Bulls notice and pushes them to buy and relocate the club.

Portland Thorns set the NWSL record yesterday for attendance with 25,218. League seeing a big boost post-World Cup. Sky Blue FC are predicting ~10K for their game at Red Bull Arena on Sunday.

hopefully Rapinoe is well enough to play....word is achilles/ankle issues since the World Cup, still hasn't played since she got back....would be nice if she can play on the 18th.
