So says the Morning Consult poll for Q2, just published.

Quote:
The 15 most popular governors are Republicans, and 8 of the 10 most unpopular are Democrats. On average, Republican governors have a net approval that is 17 points higher than Democrats [+28 vs. +11].

Among independent voters, Democrat governors have an average net approval of +5, while Republicans stand at +19.

Over the last quarter, the average Democrat's approval dropped by 3 points, while the average for Republican governors held steady.

I'd like to anticipate the probable responses by my esteemed RebKell colleagues -- namely, the poll is fatally skewed because:

(1) they only polled brainwashed, 70-ish, white males with formal education
(2) they only polled racists
(3) responses (1) and (2) are the same populations

Well, that probably exhausts this topic.

But let's give props to the most and least popular governors for outstanding achievements. Most popular is Charlie Baker, a Republican governor in deep blue Massachusetts. Least popular seems to be a sort of tie between Ned Lamont, the Democrat governor of my bankrupt tax paradise of Connecticut, and Matt Bevin, the Republican governor of Cocaine Mitch's Kentucky.

I guess my response is that polls are worthless, in spite of whether or not I like the results.

Ned Lamont can have 0% popularity in this state and will still win re-election until the day he decides to leave office. I felt the same way about Malloy. If Dannel Malloy ran for a 3rd term he would have won by a landslide. Lamont will be there until he dies or gets bored. He could start committing genocide tomorrow and it wouldn't change a single vote. In fact, CT is a perfect demonstration of why democracy is a failed system, and how a representative republic on the state level could have benefited the working man and woman.
