Having zero games on Friday night is a big bunch of BS. Feels like overall there have been a lot fewer Friday night games this season.
1pm on a Saturday is a pretty weird timeslot too.
Mercury looking to extend the winning streak to 8.

34 games are scheduled to be played on Fridays this season. Last season there were 21 Friday games.

I wish Griner v McCowan was a more interesting match-up. I really want McCowan to be great.
Man, the Mercury have benefited from ease of schedule in the post Olympic break. That final 3 stretch of Vegas, CT and Seattle should be exciting or disheartening.

Last season was weird in many ways.
2019 had, by my quick count, 45 Friday night games, and 2018 had 40.

Yes indeed. Will be interesting to find out how good we actually are. My default position is "ehhh, better than average I guess" until proven otherwise.
Better than average is nice but it doesn't win many playoff games.

| It would be interesting to how many weekend games are being played vs. weekday nights. It seems like Dream used to have more weekend games and the crowds were better then. I think this year there were only 4 WE games for the Dream at least.

| Fever had a 7 pt lead but that has evaporated. They need to get McCowan back in with two fouls to get some rebounding. Griner playing with two fouls so why not McCowan?

Cannon has done fairly well here. She even successfully defended Griner by herself on at least one post-up. Never really understood how she fell out of favor with the Aces after her surprising playoff performance last year.
She's on her last 7-day contract. But, there shouldn't be anything keeping the Fever from signing her to a hardship contract for the remainder of the season unless they expect either Gondrezick or Hatar back at some point, I'm guessing (looks highly unlikely at this point).

That’s definitely what I meant. As a newbie GM, I don’t anticipate Catchings making a bold statement by doing it before the end of the season. Plus she probably shoulders some of the responsibility for not having a better roster.
But this coach is definitely not a good match for this roster and maybe not any roster. She said early in the season that the league is moving towards “positionless” basketball. This isn’t a positionless roster. I would think somebody’s gotta go, especially with Catchings prideful goal of a franchise worthy of the Fever history. You know, one that always makes the playoffs.
I’m sure Thibault would take Stanley back at some level of assistant.
