Tension is building … will there or won't there be a working boxscore by the time the game ends?...

Powers is a disrupter. The problem is I think she disrupts Washington's offense as much as she helps.

She's better than she was in the past - and her PER this season is through the roof, so it's translating to positive numbers - but she's still greedy as all hell and prone to brain-fart plays. One of those players who can be a big help on the right night but the coach has to be poised to pull her quickly when it isn't working.

A couple notes after watching about half the game:

*EDD is really, really good (news flash, I know). She's an excellent rebounder and the best scorer in the game. She plays hard, wants to win and can put the round thing in the orange thing with regularity.

*Indiana plays almost no defense. One reason Washington shot so well is that there was seldom much defensive pressure. Maybe it's because they wanted to help on EDD, etc., but to me, it just looked like they weren't playing very hard.

*If Stephanie Mavunga is your future starter, then it makes sense to play her more than McCowan.

*To me, Washington looks like the best team in the league. Toliver and EDD are a deadly offensive one-two, and despite a true post, the defense seems solid.

Indiana aren't a great defensive team any way you cut it, but statistically relative to the rest of the league, Washington are by some measures the best offense the league has ever seen. So dipping into a bit of this game might not be the best way to judge the Fever.

Pokey has to go. She is dong with McCowan what she did with Mitchell last year, and Mitchell is behind in figuring out how to play on at team in this league. I really, really don't want the same to happen with McCowan given her potential.

IMO Pokey has done a better job with this team then i expected before the season.

The problem isn't giving Mavunga minutes, the problem is her minutes comes
at McCowan's expense while Dupree is getting 30+ minutes a game.

Looking back at the pre-season survey, you are far from alone in thinking that Indiana would be really bad.
I get the Pokey criticisms, but at the same time I also think she deserves some credit.
