You may REALLY wanna consider getting over the fact that Kelly left Gonzaga. It's old newz, and lingering bitterness serves no purpose. Rolling Eyes

Oregon is currently an "it" destination for elite players; considering the coaching part of the equation, I seriously doubt Kelly is one to blow smoke at players with, "Oh, yer gonna be a star/starter/impact player right away!"

Likewise, with an influx of high quality players (and the recruits know this) he has the luxury of *pushing* (as opposed to coddling) to get the best out of them, for the sake of the team's improvement: if some don't meet the standard, then--he will gladly grant their release, if that's their wish.

What's to be critical of? Confused

Was it juvenile stupidity or arrogance for Martin to break team rules right before one of the highlights of her college career, something that all of the players look forward to knowing it only happens once every four years? Applause to the coach for sticking to the rules no matter how much of a star the player is!

Towson of the CAA announces two transfers: Myka Johnson-Matthews, 5'10 RS Jr from Upper Marlboro, MD, coming in as a grad transfer from Florida Atlantic, and Myasia Jones, 5'8 F PG from Savannah State. It appears Johnson-Matthews may have 2 years of eligibility left.

From a facilities' standpoint, Oregon does indeed have the big bucks -- but it's not like it's the only Pac-12 school with elite facilities. (Some, obviously, aren't at that level.)

I don't think Graves is buying players, as there would seem to be little need and a huge, huge risk, so I'm not sure how the big bucks factor in.

But your point about everybody not being able to play is a good one, and it's true, to some degree, of every elite program. That's sort of the nature of the business -- you recruit as many top-shelf players as you can because some will get hurt and some will not work out. It's a lot better to have too many than not enough, and if some transfer, well, life goes on ...

The trick is to manage team morale while the unhappy kids are still on the roster.

Sophomore Jasmine Hale has left the Wisconsin Badgers program. Per Raoul, the 5'9 G, a native of Cincinnati, has announced that she is transferring to Ohio of the MAC.

I hope she's Ok and doing what she needs to do. I also hope she's not fallen victim to some of the fascist shit going on in our country right now.

I hadn't considered that. My first thought was grades, then possibly pregnancy. Then I had the shivers as I remembered Jannah Tucker.

Scott-Grayson's career has been one of controversy, bouncing from high school to high school, and persistent rumors that her mom can be an issue as well.

No question about the talent ... she'll keep getting chances.

WHOA! And if stage mommy is part of the problem, who wants her now? Is this her second team, or what?

No, she came in to Baylor as a frosh. Don't know about parent issues, but there was someone on the Baylor board who went off every time anyone was even perceived to be slighting HSG -- and did at least one rant about Kim Mulkey playing favorites. That person claimed not to be family though.

Jordan Hosey, 6'1 F who spent 3 years on the roster at Texas, has announced that she's transferring to New Mexico (Mountain West). Nice get for the Lobos. She sat out a year and got her associate's, so she's immediately eligible.

Georgia Tech announces that redshirt sophomore Sarah Bates, 5'9 G, who transferred from Kansas State where she sat out a year after transferring from UCSB, has been granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA. This one actually makes some sense.

Also, Elon has lost rising sophomore C, 6'3 Emily Maupin from Charlottesville, VA, who transferred to Liberty. She'll have 2 seasons of eligibility left after sitting out this year. https://www.liberty.edu/flames/index.cfm?

Leilani Correa enrolled at West Virginia this fall but before she's even play the game the freshman (ranked in top 60 by Hoopgurlz) has transferred to St. John's. It just gets worse and worse for Coach Mike Carey.

I frequent the Baylor board and this is certainly true. Just because someone is not a family member they could still be reflecting the families perspective if they were a close friend. They might even be someone that the family uses to promote their perspectives on a teams board.

Even good people can get caught up into a negative wave. The attitude of a normally upbeat player can certainly be poisoned and that poison is capable of spreading to the entire team in time. Negative attitudes, just like positive ones, are contagious. It is always better to recognize and nip them in the bud.

I wonder if Tynice Martin has poisoned the atmosphere there (referring to willtalk's comment about Baylor).

HSG enrolled at Auburn. Good pickup for Auburn. She's from New Jersey so thought she might end up with CViv.

It is safe to say that girl has issues. I wonder if she even really wants to play college ball. She may end up wandering around in Europe.
