Seattle wants this game slow-paced. Libs want it quick. If it's quick, Libs will probably be in pretty good shape. Trouble is, Seattle has dictated its defense against most teams it has played. The Libs are somewhere between being easy and difficult to defend. They have the makings of a true big 3. However, they have two people who can be ignored on the perimeter in Boyd and Gray. I'd expect open perimeter shots for Nurse and Durr to be hard to come by. When they add all their pieces, I expect the Libs to be extremely difficult to defend, but for now it is what it is.

It's been pretty quick so far. Nurse with some good outside shooting. And that move and fall away jumper was great.

Howard is forcing too much and missing most of them

Good timeout by Katie--they were starting to get sloppy. Let's see what they do out of the timeout. I'd like to see a little more of the two man game between Charles and Nurse (if they're still in).

They did pretty well out of that timeout. Where would this depleted team be without Rashanda Gray and Tanisha Wright?

Liberty playing very well. Nurse & Charles are feeling it and we're getting quality production from our bench.

that was a sloppy final 90 seconds from New York. Should've been up by 6 or 8 and instead, we go into the half up by 1.

Pace has been a double-edged sword for NY in the first half. 11 fastbreak points but also 11 TOs. Many of them unforced. Seattle had some brutal TOs as well. I really felt a game at a pace in or near the 80s would really benefit the Libs but it's been a mixed bag so far. That said, the Libs are young and well-conditioned. Hopefully that will enable them to wear down Seattle in the fourth quarter. I'd feel better about them doing that with a full roster, but I'm sure Seattle would feel better playing with Bird, Stewie and Loyd too.

Kia Nurse is definitely an All-Star.

Yeah no doubt. The Libs have given away too many points in the first half with sloppy play.

NY gave up 7 offensive rebounds in the first half as well. Lots of potential things to clean up. I actually think the Libs can play much better than they did in the first half. However, it's adjustment time for Hughes and Katie Smith.

I was pretty much going to post the same thing, almost point by point. It should be interesting when the Liberty try to play this style with a deeper bench.

The Liberty have come to play once again this afternoon! The short roster has done an amazing job. The competition hasn't been elite, but I don't care--winning 2 games with 4 players at Eurobasket is a great job. And now we play a nice solid first half to follow it up. I don't know how good we are, but we're not a joke like last year.

Every time I get ready to say something like "The Storm are just too short-handed to compete every game" they do this.

Liberty just falling apart in the second half. Too many TOs and no D. Interesting the Warley-Talbert gets playing time over Han Xu.

She is getting clean looks. Like the commentators said, it is a lid on the basket when she shoots. Very Happy

That successful 3 pointer by Boyd was key. Seattle was completely ignoring her as a 3 point threat. It might help keep them honest on defense.

Howard with 5 fouls. Storms on the ropes a little bit.

Nurse is not getting nearly enough touches for how well she's been playing

Whitcomb & KML both got injured tonight. Storm can't really afford to lose anyone else this season. Lots of players slipping on the court today.
