One of the top 10 athletes of all-time (on a list that includes Ali, Pelé, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, etc.) _________________ I'm all for the separation of church and hate.

As great as Serena Williams is, I also feel she and Venus somewhat underappreciated by the larger sports-viewing public.

--- Two sisters -- raised in Compton, California -- both ascend to the #1 ranking in tennis, a sport that, absent a few players (Althea Gibson, Zina Garrison) has been largely dominated by white players.

--- Serena has 23 Grand Slam victories in singles, winning each GS Tournament three times. --- Serena Williams won her first GS singles title 20 years ago; Venus won her first GS singles title 19 years ago.
