Curious who starts at center for the Liberty now. Han? Gray?

I guess Gray is better off the bench.
Christmas-Present is looking a little bit like her old self.

In the first quarter half of the Lib's shots were arc heaves. |

I'm glad that was called flagrant. I think there is way too much hard, hard fouls when players are going for a layup.

Tina actually shooting well tonight. We gotta get more from our [depleated] bench to pull out this win.

New York took 38 shots in the first half. Asia Durr shot five times. Not enough. It took 3 1/2 minutes from the start till Durr touched the ball. Why is our coach not addressing that issue?

Smith, can we not max out Tina's minutes while Zahui B is gone? Give Han a solid 10 minutes a game and see what she does. And we don't need Nurse to play all 40 tonight, either.

Boyd's turnovers are killing us. Almost all unforced.

Tonight is vividly demonstrating how much the Liberty miss Zahui B.

The Sky game was the game to win. Unlike others, I didn't have beef with Tina in that game from a shot selection standpoint. She was 6-12 outside the paint. 1-9 in the paint. Mostly against single coverage from an improved-yet-annoying Stefanie Dolson. She let the coverage come to her before she made her decisions. She just missed shots she would normally make inside. She missed several just a foot from the basket.
I look at the pick and roll defense and just don't understand it. Especially Wednesday but some things that are happening tonight too. Boyd going under screens against Slooty with no switching for instance. Boyd also does IMO a lousy job of initiating an offensive pattern most of the time. It's why at times the Liberty offense looks better with Wright initiating it even though Wright only has a fraction of Boyd's talent.
This game wasn't the game to expect to win if Minnesota was at all engaged in it. You can see we have no answer for Syl and she is just dominating in all facets. Collier also has nearly double digit rebounds and an improved Dantas is tough as well. The thing is though, it's one thing to be beaten by superior matchups. But when you have a team consistently beating itself with turnovers and mental mistakes that are repetitive, that's different. I think Katie Smith has improved in certain areas, but seizing matchups and correcting mistakes haven't been positives. Durr could have owned Quigley on Wednesday. She should have gotten the ball in positions to score with much greater frequency than she did. A scorching Slooty was left open time and time again on Wednesday. You saw Libs perimeter players helping off of Slooty and Quigley. Why??? Stuff like that irks me.

50 points in the paint yielded by NY. Then when they went zone Collier started hitting 3s.

The Libs are at least still battling. Showing character. Which means something. They have two winnable games over the weekend. They need to win them both.
