and change their name, these are some of options they should NOT use:

Brooklyn Babes
Brooklyn Broads
Brooklyn Bimbos
Brooklyn Barmaids
Brooklyn Bikinis
Brooklyn Mermaids (as in the Parade)
Brooklyn Birds
Brooklyn Bombshells
Brooklyn B-tches
Brooklyn Bridge(s)
Brooklyn Ballers
Brooklyn Brigade

Kings County Kisses
Kings County Knishes (especially given the Yiddish slang)
Kings County Killers
Kings County Krazies
Kings County Korruptors

I sort of like:
Brooklyn Attitude
Brooklyn Brains
Queens of Kings County

But I really hope that they will stay the NY Liberty!

NO CHANGING THE NAME maybe tweak the logo to add more black to fit the nets colors but NO CHANGING THE NAME

There’s nothing wrong with being a bartender, but Republicans might disagree.

What about the mascot? Is Maddie appropriate for a team in Brooklyn?

I agree about bartenders and also wait staff, but the term barmaid has a derogatory tone.

AOC has been an interesting addition to the political scene. Although I don't agree with her on some issues, I certainly respect her.

Good Point. If Maddie is short for Madison, then we at least need a name change. I like the fact that Maddie has an ambiguous gender. Otherwise I would suggest "Brook Lynn."

Maddie is a dog so they could just change it to Barkclay's

The Nets made a wonderful move in adopting a Brooklyn name. The Liberty should as well. (And I live in Manhattan.)

Maddie is staying this year

I for 1 have zero problem with an artifact title but ymmv

Also don't mind a logo update or Brooklyn liberty but a total debt and I find hard to swallow

I am fine with changing Maddies name to Barkley
AS LONG AS IT IS NEVER CHANGED TO "NASSAU"

As far as the logo ...leave it alone !

But that's partly because they wanted their own identity separate from both the Knicks and their former home in New Jersey. I'd expect the Liberty (and the League) to want to continue to represent the whole of New York. They might try something of a rebrand but I doubt the name changes.

Agreed about Nassau. How about Bark Lee?

I can fully see Tsai opting to change the logo for 2020 if they'll be playing in Brooklyn full time. Even the colors to match the Nets' colors.

As far as changing the name to the Brooklyn Liberty, I am not
in favor.

The Yankees play in The Bronx and yet are the New York Yankees
The Mets play in Queens and yet are the New York Mets
The Giants play in New Jersey and yet are The New York Giants
(yes the The New Jersey Giants does not sound so good, with all due
respect to The Garden State)
Same for the New York Jets

Since January 1, 1898 Brooklyn has been part of New York City,
and one of its five boroughs that make up the city

The New York fans have spoken. Give me Liberty or give me death! Thank you Patrick Henry.

Lots of wrongs don't make something right. It was and remains outrageous that the Brooklyn Dodgers and the (baseball) New York Giants abandoned our city but were able to keep their team names. It was and remains outrageous that the (football) New York Giants and the New York Jets abandoned our city but were able to continue to use the name "New York."

Quite true that Brooklyn has been a borough of New York for a very long while. What's the point? Should the Brooklyn Dodgers not have been allowed to use the name "Brooklyn"? Same for the Brooklyn Nets?

If I was the new owner, I’d want to rebrand to bring the team in line with the Nets (and disassociate the team from the Dolan past). I could see it being the Brooklyn Liberty with black as a main color, though.

You left out the most obvious and important example, the Brooklyn Nets, owned by the same group (at least partially). They were the New Jersey Nets until 2012. Why not disassociate with the Knicks and rebrand? Although I think it’d be cool to keep the Liberty part of the name.

But maybe they aren’t really all that into rebranding if they’re retaining the old mascot.

All this time I never realized that Patrick Henry was a New York Liberty fan !

He is right and dont forget that if The Liberty ever move to The Nassau Col.
it will be Death !

I'd want to maintain the name Liberty as well as the color scheme. It has traditional value that I'd want to keep.

The Baseball Brooklyn club was formed in 1876...the nickname Trolley Dodgers
was first used in 1895...all was while Brooklyn was a city and not part of New York. The Brooklyn Nets is another story they were the New York Nets
playing in Long Island before moving to New Jersey and becoming The New Jersey Nets...so moving to Brooklyn and becoming the Brooklyn Nets made sense

Keeping with the times and a more than 50 year old history, I suggest the team get a big sponsorship from Fan Duel and call themselves the Brooklyn Bets> Mets, Jets, Nets, and even Sets have preceded them.
