My worry for this game is that it's in Atlanta and on ESPN. I hope some fans decide to show up because having the game played in an empty arena on national TV won't be a good look.

Balanced scoring by Washington. Still waiting for Delle Donne to take over in this game.

She sure is. Too bad there is only 47 fans there to see it. I don't understand why ESPN puts Atlanta on TV when they play at home. It's embarrassing for the league.

Agreed. Maybe it'll spark something for the Dream ownership & the Dream fans. Just unbelievable that despite moving back to State Farm Arena that the Dream are averaging their worst attendance in their history.

However, this does look like the best-attended Dream game this season. Which isn't good, either, but maybe the TV game got people to show up.

Hated our offense in the 2nd, not nearly enough ball movement. Have to start hitting 3s or getting rebounds, can't win if they can't do either.

Mystics start the 2nd half on a 9-0 run.

70-52 WAS end of third

Cazorla looks reasonably poised out there. Racking up minutes in this game.

Sykes doesn’t seem to have it today.

Cazorla looks really good out there. Hopefully her minutes don't get cut once Bentley returns.

She must have had a gut-ectomy at halftime.

I'd definitely call starting her an overreaction but, if Dream fans don't get anything else out of the last couple games, it should be that Cazorla is deserving of more run. I'd strongly consider cutting bait on Bentley, and giving Cazorla her minutes.

Needs to work on that handle, though.

Atlanta is the can't shoot straight gang. The first half was an aberration for the Dream. They went into the locker room and told themselves that they were playing out of character by making all those baskets in the first half. What did they do in the third quarter?
They scored only seven points.
THE CAN'T SHOOT STRAIGHT GANG.

Sure, but that's been their CV for literally their entire existence, regardless of personnel.

Atlanta's not a team that can score enough to win, if they're not forcing turnovers, but they never have been, with or without McCoughtry. And Washington is not a team that gives up the ball, so Atlanta's only hope was to force them to take bad shots, and then dominate the glass, and a +2 rebounding advantage wasn't going to cut it.

I don't think that it'a a coincidence that Atlanta stopped contending when they stopped dominating the glass. Unfortunately for them, Sancho Lyttle and Erika DeSouza ain't walking through that door.

Small crowd? The box score said 4,000 were there, and we know that the attendance numbers are always right on.

And it's interesting that Cazorla is doing so well ... there was no doubt she was smart enough and skilled enough to be effective on offense, but she's shown more athleticism on the defensive end.

This is a bad team going nowhere, it appears, so why not start her?

It was a bad team “going nowhere” last year too and they ended up in the semifinals. With Hayes showing signs of life and McCoughtry comeback looming, it’s a bit premature to be suggesting giving up on the season just to showcase Cazorla.
