I see the drafting of Sabrina Ionescu two ways, she could be like a Kelsey Plum or a Sue Bird either way she'll be forcing a trade in 4 years to the Storm or Sparks. |
Yeah, don't you just hate it when star players sulk their way out of town!

Delle Donne called herself a guard coming out of college.

The decision to forgo her senior year at Oregon and declare for the WNBA Draft was not easy and weighed on Sabally even after she sent in her papers to the WNBA.
There were pros and cons for staying and leaving. If she stayed, she could have one season playing alongside her younger sister Nyara Sabally (who is coming off injury).
We still don’t know if there will be a WNBA season. It’s kind of risky but on the other hand I also thought that I was ready to leave. This is part of being a professional… I still feel ready to take the challenge and accept it as it is.
I had the luxury of having an alternative decision of returning back to college and I didn’t take it because ultimately I’m just ready for a new step. — Satou Sabally |

The hidden factor that might have been helpful to know beforehand: Sabally’s boyfriend plays for the Dallas Cowboys and she knew the Dallas Wings had the #2 pick.

Aislinn Konig signs to play professionally in Switzerland
https://247sports.com/college/north-carolina-state/Article/Aislinn-Konig-NC-State-Wolfpack-Basketball-Switzerland-148226221/
Quote: |
Recent NC State women's basketball graduate Aislinn Konig has signed a professional contract with BCF Elfic Fribourg in Switzerland.
In her four seasons as a member of the Wolfpack and three years as a starter, Konig was an instrumental leader in a senior class that earned the most overall wins (105), home wins (60) and conference wins (49) by any four-year class in program history. The guard helped guide the Pack to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances and three NCAA Tournament berths.
When Konig went undrafted in the WNBA Draft following the season, she discussed her future options and mentioned being open to other opportunities.
"It’s disappointing, but it’s not the end of the world," Konig said. "I believe that I’ll have other opportunities to get a shot in the WNBA. It’s just a matter of timing and making sure I’m prepared for it.” |
