I checked out some stats to see the progress Mabrey has made as a PG from last year to this year. Some had ragged on her for poor A/TO ratios from last year's Final Four games.

Last year, in the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, and Semis, she had:
A&M: 9/3
Oregon: 7/3
UConn: 3/4

Total for 3 games: 19/10

This year, the ratios for those 3 games are very much improved:

A&M: 6/0
Stanford: 6/2
UConn: 12/4

Total for 3 games: 24/6

I'd say she's improved quite a bit as PG.

BTW, I checked turnover stats for ND's Championship opponents. Last year MSU's opponents averaged 18.4 TO/game. This year Baylor's opponents averaged 14.8 TO/game.

My local paper ran the NYTimes article on Baylor. The writer has Didi Richards chasing after Arike. The writer is clearly being paid by the word. 6'1" Sophomore can't chase Arike better than a 5'11" Senior national D-award winner.

Mulkey undoubtedly saw Shepard punish Geno for taking out Stephens, and Vic for taking out McCowan, last year, Luckily she can have either Cox or Brown stay in, while the other rests.

I love Samira Wiley! Fate is presiding over the game (as she always has).

that would be nice...especially because I have no emotional involvement in this one.

Wow looks like ND will win this game. All the hype seems to be going to ND so let's see if the game is called properly or in favor of ND. ND's coach gave a awesome speech re women and bb but that should not warrent her a win because of it. Time will tell how this game works out.

They are doing a really great job with the pre-game in personalizing and humanizing the players and coaches. The empowering of women and people of varying walks of life, experiences, challenges and triumphs is one of the things I love about women's bball!

Setting up your complaints early in case ND wins, I see. So if I understand you, if ND wins it will have to mean the fix was in.

Is Cox really only 6'4? She seems taller than that out there.

If Baylor hits threes and long twos, turn out the light cuz the party is over.

Really? At least if you're going to troll try to have at least some tenuous link to reality. Or does that require too much thought on your part?

Probably because Sheperd is really 6-2 or maybe 6-1 1/2.

I'm thinking Notre Dame is going to adjust and will continue to improve as the game progresses but Baylor's defense on the guards I think will be the key. They will bother Mabrey, Ogunbowale and Young enough to limit their scoring.

So Baylor winning 5 on 6, we have had 2 push offs by AO and a slap on the arm by MM on that last basket.

both sides can leave off the reffing comments/whining. It's really been pretty even handed.

but now I'll have to root for ND because I want this to be a good game!

as mentioned in the other thread, if they call the fouls that DiDi makes, it will make a difference.

I am glad they finally called 3 seconds on Brown because she’s been hanging out there the entire tournament.

That wasn’t a foul.
