This is our first example of a waiver claim. Burke was claimed less than 24 hours after she was dropped. The rules say:

When a player is dropped from another player's roster, all teams have 24 hours to put in a claim for the player. There are some "ifs" involved, but then again, there are ifs involved with a lot of players...Eurobasket, injuries and returning players affecting minutes played, abounding complexities creating a lot of guesswork, and when dropping a player is followed by another team picking up the dropped player, second guessing myself.

So what is the ruling if a person turns in an illegal lineup and it is not corrected by game time? Use this case as an example.

Bonner is questionable for their game on Thursday in Dallas(hip). I'll keep an eye on any updates and if I'm switching her before then. If she sits on Thursday but plays on Sunday, her stats on Sunday would count?

Yes, her second game will count if she sits out the entire Thursday game.

This isn't specifically covered in the rules. I think the way it should be handled is that an out of position player like this earns a zero unless a sub is put in. You can substitute for an out of position player at any time, even after her first game has been played.
