A second Sabally supposedly as good if not better than the first would have definitely hit McGwire’s playing time. Coaches tend to flex their system to accommodate their best players. Witness Geno basically playing a 5 guard system for the past couple of years.

“I could sense her frustration," Richards said. “I get away with a lot of bumps and hits because I’m so quick. I could definitely sense she was getting a little upset with me, and with the refs. She was talking to the refs the whole game.”

And the truth is that she often does get away with a lot of bumps and hits. If they are actually called as the fouls that they are, the outcome could be quite different. We'll see if she gets away with them today or not.

Unless we see refs from 15 years ago, I doubt the calls change much

Then there's Baylor. While Oregon made 374 3-pointers on the season, Baylor has attempted just 307 – roughly a quarter of DePaul's Division I-best 1,121 attempts. While more and more programs adopt a deep-shot approach, including many of the nation's top-ranked teams, the Bears have studiously stuck to the script: Baylor plays an offensive style more firmly rooted in the past than in the present.
