So I may have gone overboard, but I wanted to see if there was anything else fans would want to see on player bio pages. The league used to update those (based on information PR people would provide them). Now we have direct access to those pages, which means we can update in real time.
Here is Tamera Young's which is the most flushed out of the players I have done so far.

Thanks for your input.

Yeah, impressive depth there. Was going to mention adding international play/stats for relevant players, but checking Ji Su Park's bio you're already doing that (although in a perfect world I'd prefer a table of stats from those tournaments, rather than just lines of text). One correction on Young: it says "Career (James Madison, 2003-08)" under College, when she appears to have still been in high school until 2004.
Beyond that, I don't know whether you have access to the whole profile page for the players or just the bios, but I think what most people want from these pages is for the stats to be complete and accurate (for both current players and those who are retired or out of the league). On Young's, if you go to the Career tab, the 2009 and 2017 seasons only list her team as 'TOT' because she was traded and therefore played for multiple teams. So you don't know who she played for without checking elsewhere, and you don't get the separate stat lines in the different cities. Little stuff like that seem completely inconsequential on their own but they're littered around WNBA.com and are part of why I've been using basketball-reference.com instead for years. |

Player Bios have always been one of the biggest disappointments of WNBA.com to me. The league is the players, and their personal stories are one of the main things that potential fans would want to know more about after they catch a game and see someone that interests them.
So that Tamera Young bio is a gazillion times better that what we've previously had. It's a list of stats and significant achievements that actually does justice to a WNBA player, and I think the simple act of adding social media links is an obvious but huge step forwards. Just those two lines alone open up a whole additional world of insight for fans. So bravo, and can other teams please follow your lead.

I really like the 'in the news' links!

Thanks for catching that. Anytime you see an error in our stuff, please feel free to let me know at jmaxwell@lasvegasaces.com. I make plenty of mistakes, and want our stuff to be as accurate as possible.

As have I. When I dig it up out of my computer archives, I am going to send them all the ABL and WBL stats too, and they have said they will incorporate those into their site as well.
I will reach out to the folks at the W about the different stat lines for different years, as well as seeing if we can get access to old players. Right now, I only have access to Aces folks, including those who were on our training camp roster last season.
I mean, there really ought to be more on Margo Dydek's WNBA bio page than "Margo Dydek (born April 28, 1974) played 11 season in the WNBA for four different teams. She is a native of Poland."

Added in "anchors" at the top of the bio to make it easier to navigate.

And to answer your question Richyyy, the league is switching its stats set up, and we should have those "trade years" broken out into teams rather than having just one "Total" stats line in the not-too-distant future.
