First round game, Ole Miss-Florida. It’s 15-14 Florida with 2:30 left in the first half, and my God, what a sloppy game! I’m reminded of Casey Stengel’s comment on the 1964 Mets, “Can’t anybody here play this game?”

There was actually book of that name about the 62 Mets that is one of the funniest sports books I have ever read.

Florida up 24-20 with 5:30 to go in the 3rd. First to 40 wins?

ALA 74 VAN 57

Alabama moves on to face Auburn in the 2nd round.

I can't not watch! But as somebody on reddit put it "Bad SEC is bad!" and that was the case for the early game. Second game was a little better, but I napped a bit during. Smile

Yeah, I hear you. If it were happening in April in the gap between NCAA and WNBA, I'd be there with you. But today, I think of it as a nice day off! Very Happy Lots and lots to watch over the next week (s).

Well, Vandy was bad. Bama was really not that awful, especially considering how well they coped with their injuries compared to how Vandy did. I really wonder how long Vandy is going to give Steph White.....although she does have to clean up the mess Balcomb left behind, and Balcomb did let the program decline a LOT from where Jim Foster had it.

Tea and scones out for LSU-Tenn.

LSU looks like their problem is that they can't shoot for shit.
Westbrook reminds me of Diamond in attitude. Lots of what looks like pouting and yelling at teammates.

entertaining. they look pretty well matched.

IMO no team with a losing record in league, no matter what league, should get in the NCAAs. That includes both of these teams.

"What looks like pouting"? Come on. That might just be her natural resting face. And she can yell at her teammates from the sidelines. You don't know what she's saying. Geez.

that's why I said 'looks like'. But every time I've watched them, that's what it looks like. And I was talking about yelling in someone's face while she was on the court. And there appears to be a difference between her 'resting' face and her unhappy pouting face. She's clearly their best player, just like Diamond was. Geez. Don't be so sensitive. It's like anybody says anything at all about Tenn and you think we're picking on them.

and BTW: I saw Westbrook some while she was in HS. She looked a lot happier then.

Rolling Eyes If you got half the amount of cr@p about your team from someone whose initials are AB that Tennessee fans do, you might be a little sensitive too.

Mimi Collins is fast becoming my absolute favorite player.

I admit to being conflicted here.

I'd love to see Tenn miss the tournament. On the other hand, I want HW to keep her job.

SEC 6th-woman-of-the-year - Cierra Porter - is starting for Missouri, as in previous years. She must have been worked into the starting lineup slowly when coming back mid-season.

Is Levy hurt? Missouri didn’t need her to trounce Florida.

Levy blew out her knee in the last game of the regular season.

Impressed with Arkansas.

Dungee a major loss for OK. What was that deal about?

Who knows....ask Nicole Kornet, Morgan Rich, or Nancy Mulkey. Rolling Eyes I just saw Coale's brought in an Australian player since the season began, which isn't a bad thing, but her attrition rate is NOT good. I don't frequent the board there much, but I've seen some aspersion's cast on her (tarnished) sainthood there. Just. Don't. Make. Sense. How do you go from a NC contender (3 FFs) with All-Americans to losing players so freely....?

BUT....this is a thread about the SEC tourney, so Kudos to Arkansas, Florida, and (almost?) Alabama for their tastes of March Madness. And to TN for surviving a challenging game.

Tenn playing well against Miss St, despite the latter getting a lot of help from the officials.

Big T with her second foul at the end of the first qtr. and Tenn hitting threes like that's their game.
