Seems a little unfair here. Oregon plays UCLA while Stanford gets Washington. There, I’ve jinxed the trees.

Let me be clear, I still believe that Las Vegas can be a great place to hold a woman's tournament. I have been to UNLV and to the SouthPoint for them in the past and to the Orleans for Men's tournaments and i will be going to each in the next few days for the semis and finals of the MWC and WCC tournaments. Las Vegas is quite capable of putting these tournaments on. Sadly the Pac 12 and the MGM Grand Garden Arena have not.

Next year's tournament will be in the same arena as the Aces play. It is certainly a better venue. The real question is whether they will learn anything from this year's debacle. I am also interested to see what the crowds are like tonight and tomorrow For the first two days they have been down significantly from Seattle.

And one more thing, where else can you get 8 days in a very nice hotel for $400. This trip (excluding any gambling losses) will cost no more than 5 days in Seattle last year.

bearman, what has been bad about this year? And you should send a report to the P12 about what you think. It can't hurt for them to hear from a fan.

nvm: I see what you said on previous page. But still report your thoughts to them.

I would expect LV to be able to handle it quite well.

I'm doing everything possible to prevent it.

FWIW, I had a great time in Vegas yesterday for the quarterfinal round (had to get back to L.A. this morning, so couldn't stay for the semi's and beyond). I never personally caught the tourney in Seattle, so I couldn't compare crowds. But I do know that-- in Seattle-- I wouldn't have been able to play craps between hoops games. In Seattle, I wouldn't have had nearly as many food options within walking distance. And in Seattle, I wouldn't have had nearly as many lodging options within walking distance.

All of the problems calbearman describes, while annoying, are obviously not specific to the actual town in which the game was played. Keep the tourney in Vegas, just allow tablets into the arena, and have cheaper water available. Problem solved!

If the PAC12 wants to hold its tourn in Vegas, fine with me. Smile

I don't want a S16 held there.

If UCLA is a 6, I don't think I'd want to be the 3 that gets to play them. They're playing really well right now.

probably not. But this isn't their best game either. When they are 'clicking' it is pretty impressive.

and every other potential winner also has question marks.

Burke had a great game. Sad ending for her. But at least they will be playing on...

Yeah, I've seen them several times this year, and I've seen them click.

They're still not good enough defensively, imo.

Allah, Buddha, AND Jaezus be PRAISED! Cool

The game ended just as these three had prophecied: The Right Way! Razz I only wish I could have seen it. Kudos to UCLA for proving their win was no 'one-off' fluke. And kudos to OR for hanging tough, and proving they're tres legit.

Yeah, any night Sabally hits zero 3s, and Sabrina gets rolling slowly does not bode well for extending runs. BUT. They did not fold, and got it done with great percentages and rebounds, etc. (by both teams). I'd say The Prize is theirs as much as anybody ranked #1-8 right now.

So proud of the Bruin players, coaches, and the whole program tonight. Wish the final outcome was a bit different, but this team is all heart, just like its coach, and I love 'em all for it.
