This proposal is football-centric, as always...but imagine this idea applied to WBB.

It doesn't even make sense in football at least for the power teams like Texas, USC, Oklahoma, UCLA and Stanford. (Or mens basketball teams like Kansas, Texas, UCLA and AZ) Far too schedule limiting. Probably makes sense and would strengthen schedules for bottom feeders, but they don't call the shots in the conferences.

In Womens and non-revenue sports I fail to see any particular attraction in having regular games like Oregon St vs Texas Tech or USC vs KSt, or Stanford vs WVU or WashSt vs OkSt.

The possibility of having 1 game a year in football or perhaps 3 games a year in basketball is reasonable, but even at that the way in which it would be administered is questionable. the standard for these types of matchups is the Big 10 - ACC challenge or the SEC -Big 12 Challenge which seed the teams to create good matchups. Random draws would make no sense.
