Never could understand why they went to Pepperdine in the first place. Rice I understand. Good school academically, close to home for them, and someplace where they could really help improve the program.

Pepperdine's campus is the most picturesque location of any school I've visited, and it is certainly close to a beach, but it is at 400 feet of elevation. A short drive to be sure.

I also don't think they got any offers from the Pac schools. If they were offered UCLA or Cal, I think they would have jumped. The consensus out of high school was that they weren't good enough.

Pepperdine also was going through the situation with their coach who was accused but acquitted of homophobic bias.
