The article made its way to my Facebook timeline. I posted a simple comment and got over 120 likes on it. The replies I've read range from the realistic to the absurd. I don't know what it will take for people on the left to realize that the Evangelicals don't give two shits about those things. They care about policy - abortion, legal discrimination, birth control, church tax breaks, church privilege in all things, etc. They don't give a fuck about who is getting them their policies as long as they are getting them. And Trump is giving them to them, through executive action and McConnell-enabled court-packing.
Why wouldn't they be thrilled with Trump?
Frankly, those of us on the left could learn a lot from them.
