First high profile black person in American history to stand up to and literally mouth off, sass back, whatever you want to call it, to white America. I haven't watched this, don't have time yet today, so I don't know if this documentary bluntly states what I'm saying here. But if it doesn't, that would be a shame.

Because of the importance of what him doing that and being the first to do that means. It's SO historic. More important than anything else that he did. He mouthed off to white America. And he was the heavyweight champion of the world when that was like... you can't even imagine if you weren't around back then. Every heavyweight champ was a household name in America at one time. Like the president.

Second most important thing Ali ever did is that astonishingly he survived sassing back to white America. In the 1960s. Just shut the hell up.

Third most important thing he ever did was becoming a beloved figure in America after sassing back to white people and living to tell about it. He did this with the power and beauty inside his person. He did more for this country in the area of civil rights than people really understand because he changed people's perceptions and their hearts as much or more than any American who has ever lived.
